The Bull Pen & Cart Lodge are two former farm buildings given a new lease of life as one spacious, welcoming holiday rental - one of four lovely holiday cottages at Beechcroft. Guests enjoy peace, beautiful views, and a location on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which is also close to the South Downs National Park. The one-bedroom cottage is ideal for couples (and singles) wanting to take a nice long holiday as well as those visiting the area and needing accommodation for work purposes, moving house, visiting relatives etc. The owner offers bookings for 3 nights to 12 weeks, giving visitors somewhere to settle with lots of time to enjoy every aspect of this lovely part of Britain.
Cowbeech is a quiet East Sussex village near Herstmonceux, Hailsham and Heathfield and within easy reach of some of the region's best sights and attractions. It is a favourite for walking and cycling, with many visitors who stay in the cottages at Beechcroft returning time and again to keep exploring the chalk downs, rolling hills, scenic fields and spectacular cliffs, all of which are either within walking distance or a short drive from the estate. Local dual-purpose routes include the 14-mile traffic-free Cuckoo Trail, which has plenty of places to stop and sit along the route, and walking and cycling trails through Abbotts Wood, Friston Forest and Bedgebury Pinetum. The East Sussex Coast and places like Beachy Head and Hastings are only half an hour's drive from the cottage, while the South Downs National Park's eastern border is even closer.
This region of England has a history rich in adventure. Visit Battle and 1066 Country, where William the Conquerer changed the course of Britain's history. Admire stately homes and castles like Bodiam, Herstmonceux, Hever, and Pevensey. Stroll around the Capability Brown designed gardens at Sheffield Park or 11-acres of flowering beauty at Pashley Manor. Visitors who love a stately home (or just the cafes and gift shops) will enjoy visiting Sissinghurst Castle, while opera aficionados should certainly book tickets for a performance at Glyndebourne.
The coast is only 6 miles from the cottage with bustling seaside towns, pretty fishing villages and quiet beaches like Norman's Bay, Cooden Beach, and Cuckmere Haven. Enjoy watersports at Pevensey Bay or the Spray Water Sports Centre at Eastbourne or head to the golden sands of Camber for a relaxing day by the sea. The New Marina at Sovereign Harbour is also a lovely place to while away a few hours in Eastbourne with its shops and eateries
There is so much to see and do that you'll soon see why a short break at The Bull Pen & Cart Lodge is never enough! Typical bookings are for between 3 nights and 12 weeks.
