The Oast House is a holiday home where families can unwind and relax in peaceful surroundings. It is one of four wonderful self-catering properties on the gated Beechcroft Estate in Cowbeech, within walking distance of the welcoming Merrie Harriers pub and close to the South Downs National Park. The cottage sleeps five people in three bedrooms and is available all year round for bookings of between two and twelve weeks (for shorter breaks, please ask the owner). The location and the standard of accommodation are so good that it is no surprise that so many visitors return for further holidays and longer stays.
Cowbeech is a quiet village bordering the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only a few miles from the South Downs National Park. It's a fantastic environment for walking and cycling, with favourite local trails including the Cuckoo Trail and the routes through Abbotts Wood, Friston Forest and Bedgebury Pinetum.
The coast is only 6 miles from the cottage with bustling seaside towns, pretty fishing villages and quiet beaches like Norman's Bay, Cooden Beach, and Cuckmere Haven. Enjoy watersports at Pevensey Bay or the Spray Water Sports Centre at Eastbourne, browse the antique shops at Rye or head to the golden sands of Camber for a relaxing day by the sea. The New Marina at Sovereign Harbour is also a lovely place to while away a few hours in Eastbourne with its shops and eateries
You'll never run out of ideas for fun and relaxation when you stay at The Oast House, no matter what season you are there. A day in Brighton has plenty for everyone, whether browsing The Lanes or admiring the Royal Pavilion's exuberant decor; or head to Hastings and enjoy fresh fish and chips sitting on the pebble beach as the sun sets. 1066 Country will easily fill another day as you tour the area that played such an important role in Britain's past and influenced its future. There are country houses and castles, including Herstmonceux, Bodiam and Hever, and gorgeous gardens. Opera lovers should certainly book tickets for Glyndebourne if visiting during the summer festival. Younger guests will enjoy attractions like Druisillas Zoo, Knockhatch Adventure Park, and Smuggler's Adventure, while The Observatory at Herstmonceux fascinates all ages.
Although bookings for The Oast House are typically for three nights to two weeks, longer stays may be possible. Please contact the owner directly to enquire.
