Granary Cottages offer three delightful holiday homes, nestling amongst East Sussex countryside, close to Chiddingly, a delightful village famed for its festival.
The holiday cottages are located on Holdens Farm and positioned within the original old granary building. Whilst the cottages benefit from modern conveniences, they still retain the original charm and character of the old granary.
Oat Cottage is featured within this advertisement and is an ideal retreat for couples, small families or friends, offering a double bedroom and an additional single room that can be used as a twin with the use of an extra bed. Available for short term lets or longer holidays, the owner's will help to ensure your visit is a comfortable one.
East Sussex has much to offer with something to suit visitors of all ages. The pretty local village of Chiddingly is just over a mile from the cottages where you will find the popular Six Bells pub and the famous Chiddingly Festival. The market town of Hailsham is around six miles away and offers a good selection of small local shops along with a supermarket (Tesco). Every Wednesday morning, cattle markets are held in the town and Hailsham also offers easy access to the old railway line, the Cuckoo Trail, and plenty of good country walks and cycle rides.
The beautiful historic East Sussex town of Rye (one of the Cinque Ports) is within easy reach and well worth the journey with its medieval church, enchanting cobbled streets, antique shops and beautifully preserved historic houses. Eastbourne is also worthy of a visit, not only for its good selection of shops but also for its pier, famous carpet gardens and Beachy Head for fantastic views. The cosmopolitan seaside town of Brighton has plenty to offer with its beautiful beaches, regular events, fabulous shopping, great attractions and excellent selection of eating establishments. Lewes (the County Town of Sussex), is a beautiful town, over-shadowed by its magnificent castle. With great small shops offering gifts and local produce, and many unique architectural features, it is an interesting place to visit.
The local area also offers a good selection of attractions including: Glebe Field Riding School (just over a mile away) where you can have a riding lesson amongst sixty acres of private woodland; Blackberry Farm (just under four miles away) with approximately two hundred animals including lamas, ponies, deer and pigs to name just a few - with large outdoor and indoor play areas, tractor rides, animal handling and picnic areas; and Drusillas Park (just over eight miles) - widely recognised as the best small zoo in the country with a wonderful selection of wild animals in a stunning habitat, a Thomas the Tank Engine Railway, family restaurants and a children's adventure playground.
