About Davarr

Davarr is a welcoming holiday home in the seaside village of Seahouses. The detached holiday cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms with accommodation entirely on one level, with a layout that works well for couples or families with children over 11 years old. Due to the central location and having no stairs Davarr is perfect for couples holidaying with elderly parents. The harbour and all the local amenities are a very short stroll from Davarr. As part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can expect stunning views in all seasons.

Seahouses is such a picturesque place for a holiday. The quiet fishing village is between Beadnell and Bamburgh, with a scenic harbour from where you can take a boat trip to see the puffins, seals and Farne Islands. The long sandy beach and dunes are a magnet for bird watchers and nature lovers, while the clear North Sea water is a favourite for anglers both from the beach or deeper out on a boat trip. There's also a golf club, stunning coastal walks, and designated cycling routes: the Coast and Castle, Hadrian's Cycleway, and the Pennine Cycleway. Kielder Water and Forest has footpaths and mountain bike trails and a 26-mile loop that circumnavigates Kielder Water.

Daytrips can include visiting Holy Island of Lindisfarne, exploring Bamburgh's town and castle, enjoying surfing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, coasteering around Beadnell Bay, and shopping in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. The Northumberland National Park is within a short drive, as are Hadrian's Wall, and the Scottish Borders and places like Kelso.

As Davarr is a bungalow, it's ideal for guests who need to avoid steps where possible. It's also pet-free to suit guests with allergies. Holiday bookings are available in all seasons.

Davarr is a modern bungalow on a corner plot and benefits from large gardens and off-street parking.

  • One step with a grab rail leads from the path to the enclosed entrance porch where there is space to hang coats and leave walking boots.
  • Tranquil living room with three sofas, hardwood flooring with a soft carpet, and multi-aspect windows that fill the room with natural light. Put the Smart TV on, watch a DVD, or snuggle up with the electric log effect stove on and a good book.
  • Separate dining room with seating for six people so that you can have friends over for dinner.
  • Fitted kitchen with efficient appliances that include a dishwasher, and cupboards well-stocked with equipment and utensils for self-catering.
  • Utility room with a washing machine, iron and ironing board, freezer, and storage for coats and boots.
  • Master bedroom suite with a king-sized bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and ample storage. Bed are made up for the arrival of guests with extra blankets and hot water bottles available. The ensuite has a walk-in shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Second large double room with a king-sized bed, bedside tables with reading lights, and a dressing table.
  • Bathroom with a shower over the bath, a grab rail, WC and a heated towel rail. Bath towels are provided.

Outside: There is a low maintenance garden around two sides of the cottage, featuring an enclosed paved patio with seating and space to store bicycles or a mobility scooter. The cottage has off-street parking with free parking available on the street outside.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Guests to bring beach towels if they are required. The owner regrets they cannot accommodate children under 11 years old or pets. Smoking is not permitted.

Winter short breaks of a minimum of three nights are available November to Easter and may be booked at any time. Off peak short breaks (if available) may be booked within 3 weeks of the holiday. Peak short breaks which include Easter, Christmas and New Year, Spring Bank Holiday and the months June to September are only available very close to the start date.

Davarr Noticeboard

We feel that our bungalow is ideal for couples or 2 couples who like to holiday together. The bungalow is not classes as for the disables but it definitely suitable for elderly or those with limited mobility. The bungalow is not suitable for young children so our lowest age of guests is 11 years of age.
As no pets are allowed rest assured it is suitable for those who are allergic to dogs.
