Sunnyside was designed by an architect to make the most of its location and views. The modern family holiday home is on the southern border of the North York Moors National Park, barely a mile from the lively town of Pickering, where there is an excellent variety of places to eat, drink and shop. It's perfect for families or friends as the four bedrooms can be configured either as double rooms with superking beds, or twin rooms with two single beds, sleeping up to eight guests in comfort. It's a particular favourite of steam train enthusiasts for views of passing trains on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Pickering is the perfect place to stay for anyone visiting the North York Moors. Whether it's your first time or you're a regular visitor, you'll find an enormous number of ways to have fun and be active. Yorkshire is synonymous with fantastic cycling routes, as the owner of Sunnyside can attest. He can take guests on guided routes over the moors or around the lowlands of the Vale of Pickering. The cottage has secure bicycle storage, and bike hire is available locally. Road cyclists and mountain bikers have miles of exciting routes leading to spectacular views and charming towns and villages with friendly pubs and tea rooms for mid-ride sustenance. Walkers also love this area for the beauty and diversity of its footpaths and trails, including the long-distance Cleveland Way.
From Sunnyside, it's only a 20-minute walk through peaceful woodland to reach medieval Pickering Castle. Once you've wandered around this impressive fortification, you can explore the Beck Isle Museum, browse the stalls of the Monday market and the indoor Old Flea Market, or take yourself further afield to other towns and villages like Helmsley, Malton, Rosedale Abbey, and Goathland. The beautiful Yorkshire coast and places like Whitby, Scarborough, and Robin Hood's Bay are only half an hour from the cottage, while the magnificent city of York is under an hour away.
Bookings for holidays at Sunnyside are available all year round.
