About Avocet Cottages

Avocet Cottages is perfection with a picket fence. The Norfolk holiday home is on a quiet residential street in the coastal village of Snettisham, a few minutes walk from a small supermarket, bistro, newly opened cafe/restaurant and two pubs - the award winning Rose and Crown and also the Queen Victoria. It's well suited to families as it sleeps five people in three bedrooms with two bathrooms and an enclosed garden but equally suited to couples as the owner offers a couples discount. The location is ideal in all seasons, close to the beaches and attractions that make Norfolk a favourite holiday destination for all ages.

Snettisham is on the western side of the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking The Wash. Everything you need for a self-catering holiday is within strolling distance. You can buy ingredients to cook at home or pick up some freshly fried fish and chips for a relaxed dinner in the garden. Snettisham is well known for its stunning RSPB nature reserve, a beautiful place for a scenic walk. You'll always be able to orientate yourself using the spire on the village church of St Mary's, which is 175 feet high and dates from 1340. There's also a popular loop from the village and back through woodland. Snettisham Park is a 10-minute walk away, with a thriving deer herd and regular deer safari.

King's Lynn is 20 minutes by car, and you can get to Norwich in just over an hour for sightseeing, shopping and dining out. Other places to visit for interesting shops, cafes and restaurants include Burnham Market and Holt. As well as beaches like Holkham, Holme and Brancaster, you can spend a day at the seaside at Cromer, Sheringham and Wells. Local attractions include Sandringham Royal Estate, Castle Rising, Houghton Hall and Gardens, Norfolk Lavender, and Bircham Windmill.

Avocet Cottage is child-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. Cyclists and mountain bikers can bring their bikes and store them securely in the summer house. Bookings are available all year round.

Accommodation Comprises:

Avocet Cottages is a newly constructed mid-terraced flint cottage typical of this region. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Spacious living room with comfortable seating where everyone can relax together after a day at the beach or sightseeing.
  • Fully fitted kitchen featuring all of the equipment and appliances you would expect from a quality self-catering cottage, including a dishwasher, double fan oven, and a coffee maker for those lazy mornings. The dining table has seating for six. Glass French doors let in lots of natural light and open onto the patio and enclosed garden.

Upstairs:

  • Soft shades and quality bedding make the master bedroom an oasis of calm where you can sleep soundly and awake refreshed and ready to enjoy whatever the day brings. It has a king-sized bed and plenty of storage. The ensuite has a large shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin bedroom with two single beds separated by a nightstand with a reading light. The soft colours suit guests of all ages.
  • Bedroom three is a single and ideal for anyone who appreciates their own space.
  • A family bathroom has a power shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The sheltered rear garden is enclosed for your privacy. There is a patio with garden furniture near the house and a summer house at the end. There are two substantial exclusive parking spaces in a private car park. Charges apply for electric vehicle charging.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included with the hire of Avocet Cottages. Well behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement and a small cleaning surcharge. Guests to bring beach and dog towels if they are needed. Smoking is not allowed.
