The Felbrigg is a fantastic barn conversion just inland from the Norfolk coast in the small but friendly village of Roughton. Sleeping four guests (plus an additional two for the odd night) in two bedrooms (one which is en-suite), it is ideal for couples, family and friends who want to enjoy all the beauty of Cromer and Norfolk's gorgeous coastline and countryside. The Felbrigg is part of Jonas Farm Barns where guests enjoy the benefits of facilities like a heated indoor swimming pool and children’s play area without having to sacrifice space or privacy.
Roughton has a great pub, the New Inn, as well as a popular fish and chip shop, fishing lake and petrol station which doubles as the post office and village shop. It is just two miles from The Felbrigg and is convenient if you want to pick up a pint of milk and the morning paper. Roughton also has a train station, connecting you to Cromer, Sheringham (and the North Norfolk Heritage Railway) and Norwich, so you have the option of leaving the car behind and avoiding the stress of unfamiliar traffic.
Norfolk’s beaches are a favourite with holidaymakers, many of whom have been visiting the area for generations, with parents returning to give their children the same bucket-and-spade holiday they loved when they were young. The Felbrigg is less than two miles south of Cromer, with its amazing Victorian pier, promenade, and an enormous stretch of golden sandy beach. Unlike some seaside resorts, Cromer has never lost its traditional charm, and there is nothing nicer than watching the world go by as you sit with freshly caught fish and chips or, the local delicacy, sweet and juicy Cromer crab. It also has its fair share of excellent restaurants and pubs, priding themselves on their locally sourced delights, including No.1 Cromer where you can enjoy top-notch fish and chips (amongst other locally sourced delights) in Michelin-starred chef, Galton Blackiston's restaurant.
Cromer can get very busy in summer so staying at The Felbrigg lets you enjoy the benefits of the beach with the ability to cycle or drive there with ease. It is also simple to reach other beautiful North Norfolk beaches like Overstrand, East and West Runton, Sheringham, Mundesley and, slightly further afield, Wells-next-the-Sea and Blakeney with its famous seal colony.
Leave the beach for a day or two and head south to the stunning Norfolk Broads. The heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park is less than a 30-minute drive from The Felbrigg and offers visitors a wonderful look at a unique landscape with magical waterways. Norwich is around 30 minutes by car (or train, if you prefer). It is a stunning city with excellent shops, two incredible cathedrals, a beautiful “secret” garden, museums, an excellent market, fantastic theatres, galleries, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Thanks to the wool trade, Norwich was a hugely influential city in medieval England, and you can see the wealth in the remaining buildings from this time.

Accommodation in The Felbrigg is all on one level, so it is a practical choice for those with limited mobility. It is part of a small complex, Jonas Farm Barns, but is a private property with its own enclosed garden and parking space. The owners use it as their holiday home and have taken great care to make sure it is equipped with everything guests need to enjoy a comfortable self-catering holiday in Cromer.
Accommodation Comprises:
Outside: The Felbrigg has a large, flat enclosed garden that is laid to lawn and perfect for children to play on. A large patio area has garden furniture and a barbecue. There is off-street parking for two cars next to the barn. Guests have use of the indoor heated swimming pool and a shared children's play area with climbing equipment. The complex has a reception building where there are washing machines and a tumble drier for guest use.
Additional Information: The Felbrigg has underfloor central heating and WiFi. All utilities and linen are included in the hire cost, and guests are asked to bring their own beach/pool towels. A high chair, travel cot and ironing board are provided. No smoking. No pets. The changeover day is Friday but may be flexible outside of peak season depending on availability.
