Bel Ami, meaning “good friends” is a spacious lodge of wood construction in Pentney Lakes, a private resort in West Norfolk, situated in a picturesque rural area south of Kings Lynn. The lodge overlooks one of several freshwater lakes on the resort, and offers a peaceful location to relax with family and friends. There are many lovely walks close by, including West Bilney Woods and the River Nar.
The onsite Parkside café and bar offers a place to dine or socialise next to a well-equipped play area for younger visitors. Several local supermarkets can deliver groceries for a stress-free, self-catering holiday. The resort also offers fishing and water sports for an extra charge.
The surrounding area has something for everyone. The North Norfolk coast with its beautiful sandy beaches and extensive coastal paths is within a 30-minute drive. The Sandringham Estate is a short drive away, as are Castle Acre and Castle Rising. High Lodge, Thetford provides a fun day out for families with children, including a ‘Go Ape’ adventure park. There is a golf course at Middleton, more water-based activities at Bawsey Country Park and a variety of restaurants, shops and supermarkets to choose from in Kings Lynn, Swaffham and surrounding villages. One of our favourites is the community-run pub in Shouldham, which can be reached on foot through local footpaths for hardy walkers (an 8-mile round trip). Popular wedding venue, Pentney Abbey, is within walking distance (less than 1 mile).

Accommodation comprises:
Spacious open living and dining areas, with ample room for up to 8 guests. The main living area has comfy sofas, a smart TV and DVD player, and an electric stove with wood-burning effect for a cosy feel in the winter without the hassle of making up a fire.
A well-equipped kitchen with induction hob and fan oven provides space for self-catering. The dining room table can easily accommodate 8 people using chairs from the kitchen table.
The main floor has two bedrooms, both with king-sized beds. The main bedroom also has a ‘Jack and Jill’ door to the main bathroom.
Upstairs has two bedrooms, each with two single beds and a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The lodge has an enclosed back garden with patio furniture for outdoor dining on warm days (peak season only).
Books, games, jigsaws and DVDs are available in the lodge for guests to enjoy. We have left a selection of maps for guests who enjoy walking or cycling - we ask that you please leave these in the property for other guests to access.
Well behaved pets are welcome, but must be on-leash in public spaces and please be sure to clear up after your pet(s) during your stay. We also ask that they are kept off the furniture (including beds). There are plenty of walks nearby where dogs can be allowed off leash.
For people with limited mobility, the main floor offers step-free access with 81 cm (32 inch) doorways.
We can accommodate babies and small children, with a high chair, baby gates and a cot available in bedroom 4 (upstairs).
Utilities, wifi, bedding and towels are provided. Tea and coffee available.
