8 Carpenters Cottages is ideally placed in the heart of the Georgian market town of Holt, tucked away in a private position in a pretty courtyard setting. Sleeping two guests in a double bedroom, the cottage offers the best of all worlds, being within strolling distance of great cafes, pubs, independent shops and Holt Country Park, yet peaceful and relaxing sitting behind a 'secret' cottage garden gate.

Dating back to the 1800's, this attractive cottage is cosy and welcoming with plenty of character. From the oak beams and wooden floors to the outdoor sitting area for a G&T, you are sure to fall in love with 8 Carpenters Cottages.

Start your day by strolling into Holt (just two minutes on foot) and having a cooked breakfast at Byfords (a real treat!) or picking up local ingredients at Bakers & Larners food hall to enjoy in the cottage courtyard listening to the sound of blackbirds as you plan your days adventures. With such a great array of amenities on the doorstep, including Holt Country Park, you may well park the car when you arrive and not get back in it until it is time to head home. Holt is also home to the Poppy Line Steam train where you can hop on and take a nostalgic scenic trip to Sheringham for some sea air.

Holt is a great base for exploring the many attractions of Norfolk. Blakeney National Nature Reserve with its famous seal and bird colonies is only five miles away, as is Cley Marshes - another must for wildlife enthusiasts. Cromer, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea are also within easy driving distance for those wanting a day by the sea. Other attractions to add to your holiday itinerary are Sandringham Estate, Felbrigg Hall, Blickling Estate and Holkham Hall with its magnificent estate in a coastal setting.

Whatever the time of year, a holiday in Norfolk is sure to leave you relaxed and invigorated.

Attractive and welcoming, 8 Carpenters Cottages is a popular choice with couples looking to explore or just relax and enjoy a little romance. With lots of character and traditional charm, accommodation is split across two levels.

You enter the cottage courtyard garden via a 'secret' garden gate and once inside, accommodation comprises:

Ground floor

  • Open-plan living area with space to cook, dine and relax. A wooden floor with lovely Persian rug, beams on the ceiling and bookcase full of interesting books add to the charm. A Smart TV, DVD player, WiFi and piano provide both modern and traditional entertainment.
  • The kitchen area is well equipped for self-catering with a dishwasher, built-in Neff oven (with gas hob over), fridge (with ice box) plus wine cooler, washing machine and microwave. There is also a table with chairs for romantic suppers.

First floor

  • Double bed with bedside units with lamps. There is also a TV and DVD player in the bedroom.
  • Next to the bedroom is a good-size shower room with double walk-in shower cubicle, WC and wash basin.

Outside: The pretty enclosed courtyard garden with seating provides the perfect place to relax when the sun shines. Private off-road parking at the back of the cottage.

Additional information: Unfortunately no pets and no children (for pet-friendly accommodation, see the owners advert for Teddy's Retreat). Prices include heating, electricity, bedlinen and towels. WiFi internet access available. Unfortunately no short breaks.
