Bramble Lodge, is ideally placed in the beautiful New Forest National Park and affords direct access into the forest. This self-contained retreat for two is detached in a secluded position and has its own separate entrance - perfect for couples who enjoy cycling, walking, horse riding or who want to explore this wonderful area and its many attractions.
Located at the rear of the lovely gardens of Brambles, the owners' charming cottage, Bramble Lodge with off road parking provided.
Conveniently located, Bramble Lodge is just two miles from Burley and Bransgore which are both thriving New Forest villages with plenty of shops and pubs to sample.
Not only are there excellent land-based activities to enjoy, but also the unsurpassed sailing waters nearby of the Solent and Poole Harbour.
Directly from the front door you can stroll along the forest road and enjoy watching the ponies, cattle, and sometimes donkeys peacefully grazing and even domestic pigs roaming freely in the “pannage” season! There are also many species of birds to be seen - and if you don't actually see them, you will certainly hear owls by night and woodpeckers by day!
Enjoy the freedom of roaming the New Forest with wonderful walks from Bramble Lodge over forest land and gently undulating heath. There are three pubs, in different directions, within approximately one and a half miles walking distance, providing you with the opportunity to explore the area by foot whilst working up an appetite and thirst! The area is also very popular with cyclists both on and off road, with picturesque rides in the Burley, Holmesley and Brockenhurst areas (bike hire available from Forest Leisure Cycling in Burley).
What to Do and See: Visit Christchurch with its lovely 11th Century church or nearby Mudeford Quay where you will find lovely beaches and can watch the boats. Enjoy a game of golf at Burley Golf Club (two miles away) - a beautiful forest club where golfers and ponies roam freely together! Take a leisurely drive and follow the forest road providing a scenic route via the pretty village of Burley on to Lyndhurst, known as 'the capital of the New Forest' with a great choice of shops and eating establishments (just fifteen minutes away). The famous Beaulieu Motor Museum is popular with all ages and also easily accessible by car, as is Bucklers Hard which is steeped in maritime history. For a day on the beach, head to nearby Avon beach in Mudeford (10 minutes drive) or Bournemouth and Poole and slightly further afield, visit Dorset’s famous Jurassic coastline - a World Heritage Site famed for fossil hunting. There are also markets at Ringwood on a Wednesday or Lymington with its large open air market on a Saturday - a great place for stocking up on provisions which also has interesting boutiques to browse along its cobbled quay, nice places for a meal out and access by ferry to the Isle of Wight.
