Hazel House is a spacious four bedroom home on a quiet residential street in Brockenhurst in the New Forest National Park. There is room for up to eight people (plus infant) to stay in comfort, so it is perfect for large families or groups of friends, with guests able to enjoy peace and privacy while remaining within walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the open forest.
Brockenhurst is a vibrant village and the perfect example of why New Forest is so precious and worthy of the protection its national park listing provides. Ponies, donkeys, deer and cows wander freely past thatched houses that sit on lanes that lead into the beautiful surrounding countryside. Brockenhurst's status as the most populated village in the national park means that, in addition to excellent pubs, it has an array of interesting shops and local businesses to help ensure you have everything you could want for your self-catering holiday.
One of the best ways to explore Brockenhurst and the New Forest is on your bike, and there are some excellent trails around the area, including the eight-mile route that starts from the train station (where there is a convenient bike hire shop) and leads along Rhinefield Drive. Footpaths are plentiful, with trails to suit all ages and abilities, and visitors can explore on horseback by arranging a trek through a nearby riding school. Popular walks in the area pass through Standing Hat, Ober Water, Blackwater Arboretum, as well as along Lymington River and around Hatchet Pond. A few miles away, the Solent Way coastal footpath wraps around the edge of the mainland and offers lovely views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight.
Favourite Brockenhurst attractions include Beaulieu Palace House and the National Motor Museum, St Nicholas' Church, the oldest church in the New Forest and the site of an ancient yew tree that experts believe to be over 1,000 years old. Brockenhurst also has a golf course and an activity centre. Slightly further away, but still within half an hour's drive, are Lymington and Lyndhurst, and you can even spend the day in historic Portsmouth or Southampton.
One of the most pleasurable features of a busy day exploring is having a comfortable place to return to, and Hazel House fits the bill perfectly, offering a high standard of accommodation in a peaceful yet central location.
The owner is happy to accept bookings on the basis of a full refund for any reason connected to Covid 19.
