About Fernlea

Fernlea is a modern terraced home that has been completely renovated to offer a high standard of accommodation for up to five people in three bedrooms. It’s perfect for families, couples, friends and one small dog. The cottage is in the heart of Sway village, in a quiet residential road with roadside parking adjacent to the property. The rear terraced garden is securely fenced in. Sway is in the New Forest National Park and conveniently located within short walking distance of village shops, cafe, The Silver Hind Pub and The Hare & Hounds Pub (both dog friendly).

Due to its location and the bonus of Sway train station’s main line services to London and other areas, you will be in easy reach of favourite attractions and within walking distance of the New Forest, which is full of pretty villages with thatched cottages and free-roaming ponies and cattle, friendly tea rooms and excellent country pubs.

From Fernlea, you will be able to comfortably access other local attractions such as Paulton’s Park, Peppa Pig World, Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World. Buckler’s Hard Village and Museum is well worth a visit as is the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu or admiring the seasonal beauty of Exbury Gardens. The historic town of Lymington is within a 15-minute drive where you can enjoy a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants, tearooms, Saturday market, seawater bath, seawall walk, the quaint cobbled street to the Quay and pass the time yacht watching! From Lymington you can board the Wightlink Ferry for a sightseeing trip to the Isle of Wight. Whether your preference is for full on sports activities, relaxing on the beach (within 5-miles) or visiting the diverse range of tourist attractions for all ages, the New Forest has something for everyone.

Accommodation Comprises:

Fernlea is a spacious modern property with accommodation over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Put your feet up in the living room, which has an electric 'log effect' fire and a smart TV. The style is sophisticated yet comfortable with quality sofas and armchairs. The house has WiFi throughout and also gets a good signal for most mobile providers.
  • Big kitchen/diner with efficient appliances that include an electric oven and stove, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. French doors open onto the patio and garden at the rear of the cottage, and ensure the room feels light and welcoming even on an overcast day.
  • Cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a kingsize bed, leafy views, and bedside tables with reading lights. The ensuite has a shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized single beds separated by a bedside table with a reading light, and a wardrobe.
  • Quiet single room with a single bed, built-in wardrobe and a dressing table.
  • Contemporary family bathroom with a shower over the bath, WC and a vanity unit with a handbasin.

Outside: The rear terraced garden has a patio that's accessed via French doors from the kitchen/diner or via a side gate. There is garden furniture for relaxed meals alfresco, and a level area of lawn. There is secure storage for bikes, golf clubs and other sports equipment.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved small dog is welcome for no extra cost (if you are not sure if your dog breed is classed as 'small', please speak to the owners before booking). Smoking is not permitted. Seven night bookings only during the peak few summer weeks with a Friday changeover and short breaks (3-night minimum) at all other times with a flexible changeover between Monday to Friday (please enquire with the owner if you require Saturday or Sunday arrival).

PET (one small dog)
For good hygiene standards, we have allocated the Fernlea first floor three bedrooms and bathrooms a "Pet Free Zone". We have a dog ourselves, so we know how important they are to the family. However, we are responsible for the welfare of all our guests and their wellbeing must be our priority.
Therefore, we ask for your assistance in keeping your dog downstairs and we provide a stairgate to help with this situation.
