Shepherd Hut is on the idyllic Michelmersh Manor Farm, offering couples or families a combination of glamping and farm holiday rolled into one. There are two huts - one housing a spacious bedroom with a kingsize bed, and the other with a double bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and living area. The owners of Michelmersh Manor Farm raise a herd of dairy cows and a flock of sheep, so there is always something going on from milking to calving, lambing and shearing. It's a great environment to help children learn about country and farm life.
Michelmersh is a quiet village just a few miles from Romsey. Several pubs are within a mile and a wider choice of shops and other amenities are less than 10 minutes by car or within easy cycling reach. Walking is a joy through the woodlands and countryside around the farm. Footpaths are plentiful and include the long-distance Monarch Way and the Test Way, which is also suitable for cyclists. Being so close to the New Forest National Park and the South Downs National Park means that you'll never run out of places to go walking, mountain biking or road cycling. Fishing in the River Test is another favourite way to enjoy the beauty of this area, as are playing golf and horseriding.
You may be perfectly happy pottering about on the farm, feeding lambs and watching the milking in between snoozing in the sunshine beside your cute Shepherd Hut. However, there's no end to the adventures you can have when you stay here. Day trips can include taking the kids to Paulton Park and Peppa Pig World or treating yourself to hours of dream-worthy cars at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. Winchester and Salisbury are within easy reach for shopping and sightseeing. Stonehenge is around 40-minutes away, as are lovely Hampshire beaches like Milford-on-Sea. There are beautiful gardens, historic houses, activity centres and watersports.
Shepherd Hut is one of four self-catering properties at Michelmersh Farm. It's completely private and set apart from the other holiday cottages but can be booked together if you're looking for a bigger place for a holiday with your extended family or friends. Shepherd Hut is two modern huts built in a traditional way using wood and corrugated metal. The interiors are anything but rustic, featuring high-quality finishings and furnishings throughout.

Outside: The huts face away from the farmhouse and overlook a field where curious cows may poke their heads over the fence to see what's going on. There is a barbecue/firepit for cooking and staying warm as you stargaze at night, and a table and chairs for eating outdoors. Parking is next to the hut.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Please note that Shepherd Hut is fed from a private water supply. Seasonal bookings only, please contact the owner. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
