Poppy's Barn is a charming stone holiday cottage in Ilfracombe. Spread over two levels, it has one bedroom and is ideal for a romantic escape or a solo getaway on the North Devon Coast. The owner has done all they can to ensure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible, from the high-quality bedding to the welcome pack of local goodies so you can put the kettle on and put your feet up as soon as you arrive. The cottage is on Higher Mullacott Farm, a mile from the harbour town and within easy reach of beautiful beaches and popular attractions.
Ilfracombe is a seaside town in the best British tradition. The South West Coast Path snakes its way around dramatic cliffs, sheltered coves, and a rocky coastline, offering scenic views in all seasons. Tempering the dramatic coastal views, the harbour is a peaceful haven with colourful boats and a small sandy beach that extends significantly at low tide. Local shops and cafes serve everything from fudge to fish and chips, and there is a good choice of boutiques for special souvenirs.
You don't have to leave the grounds of Higher Mullacott Farm to have a fantastic holiday. 3.5 acres of gardens include seating, outdoor table tennis, and badminton. There's a beach hut stuffed with crab lines, deck chairs, windbreaks and other essentials to borrow for a day at the beach. Fill the car with what you need and head to the sandy shores of Woolacombe, Barricaine, Croyde, and Saunton beaches, all within just a few miles of Poppy's Barn. Tunnels Beaches, a spot famous for its Victorian bathing pool and unusual entrance, is two miles away, and Braunton Burrows and Lundy Island are also within easy reach.
Day trips can include sightseeing at Lynton and Lynmouth, taking a boat trip from Ilfracombe Harbour, walking at Watersmeet, and wandering the markets at Barnstaple and the traffic-free lanes of Clovelly. The 30-mile Tarka Trail between Braunton and Meeth is popular with cyclists, and if you can imagine a water sport, you'll undoubtedly find it here! Fishing, horse riding, tennis and golf are readily available.
Poppy's Barn is private and self-contained—book on its own for two or with one of three other lovely holiday cottages on the farm.

Outside: As well as shared use of 3.5 acres of grounds, guests at Poppy's Barn have a private terrace with a bistro set and a charcoal kettle barbecue. There's parking near the cottage.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Guests are to provide cot bedding and beach towels if required. Smoking and pets are not permitted.
