Aldeburgh is a lovely popular seaside town on the Suffolk heritage coast which provides the perfect place to relax and escape the pressures of everyday life. With a shingle beach and an excellent selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, a cinema, model boat pond, lifeboat station and golf course, you have everything within easy reach.
Fishing is still a thriving trade of this delightful town and the fishing huts, working boats and sail boats bobbing on the river all add to the charm and ambience, which has made this town so popular over the years.
There are numerous places of interest to visit nearby including: Snape Maltings (famous for its music festivals, art exhibitions, shopping and food festival); the well known bird sanctuary at Minsmere; Orford and Framlingham castles and sandy beaches at Walberswick and Southwold. Aldeburgh is also surrounded by pretty villages making this area a pleasure to explore. Alternatively, for those who want to stay locally, why not take a leisurely stroll along the unspoilt seafront or enjoy lunch in one of the many great places to eat.
Crossing Cottage was built around one hundred years ago on the now disused railway between Aldeburgh and Leiston. It lies at the end of a quiet lane where three footpaths meet leading to the beach (ten minutes through the caravan park), the town (ten minutes) and Thorpness (one and a half miles). Being in a quiet position with a south facing garden, this charming holiday cottage offers an ideal place to relax and enjoy all the facilities Aldeburgh has to offer or to use as a base to explore the beautiful Suffolk area.

Location and quality just perfect. More like a home than a holiday home. Especially enjoyed the walks. We will return.
Plenty of good walks straight from the door. Fresh fish from the beach an absolute must.
Ideal place for a rest. Well stocked and very clean and welcoming. Great for peace and quiet. Wonderful fruit cake.
Our second visit and with a new baby the extras were great. Look forward to our return.
Yet again another lovely holiday. Cottage was as comfortable as we remember from last time. Enjoyed the Aldeburgh Carnival, especially the fireworks on the beach. Hope to visit again soon.

Had a great week. Everything we needed was here. Baby sister liked it a lot. Thank you for all the toys, especially the lego, and videos. It was great to have all the baby things for Ellie's first holiday. We loved our first tatste of Suffolk.
By far the best equipped cottage we've been to for a long time. The boys enjoyed putting together the puzzles. And in each case every piece is there. Fantastic.
This is the first time we have spent time here in the winter. We have had a very relaxing time. Our dog especially loved the fire. All in all a lovely place to stay. We will definitely be back.
We have had a fantastic holiday here in Suffolk. Children loved their bedrooms with all those toys, games and books. Thank you for the welcome goodies...all a very special touch. We had picnics outside most days, went cycling, walking and rowing on The Mere at Thorpness. What a great place for enjoying the outdoors. We are now totally relaxed and rested. Thank you, we hope to come back.
The most relaxing cottage that we have ever stayed in, with such a lovely homely feel to it...equipped with so much for everyone and every situation. We loved it.
Our fourth stay in and around Aldeburgh and our favourite accommodation yet. A real home from home. The accommodation was lovely and clean. You go the extra mile to make your guests welcome.
