Tudor Cottage is one of two lovely Five Star holiday cottages, providing an ideal country retreat within the unspoilt rolling countryside of North Wales. The cottages are in an enviable position, sitting at over 1000 feet and afford fantastic uninterrupted views over thirty miles of spectacular scenery.
Although secluded and peaceful, the holiday cottages are within easy reach of the A5 and centrally situated for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and the numerous attractions of North Wales including Ruthin; Chester; Snowdonia; langollen; Harlech; Anglesey and Betws-y-Coed - all within easy driving distance.
The cottages have been furnished and equipped to a very high standard of comfort and style and benefit from the shared use of a sauna and hot tub, providing the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day! Both cottages are entirely separate from each other; isolated from any road noise or neighbours and detached with their own private gardens and parking spaces. There is also a good size lake within the grounds, where guests can swim, relax or use the two canoes and kayaks to have some fun. The lake also has a diving jetty (deepest point is twelve foot) and it is just a field away from the cottages and fenced off for safety.
Within the immediate area there are some beautiful walks starting from the front door, including a Bronzed Aged hill fort to climb, the Pilgrims Way and a large network of footpaths for both long and short walks. You can also explore the country lanes by bike or simply sit back and enjoy the fantastic scenery.
Bala is a fascinating town that is just fifteen minutes away by car with its narrow gauge lakeside steam railway and famous lake providing numerous activities including white water rafting, sailing, swimming, wind-surfing, fishing, mountain bike hire, riding and canoeing. The town has two supermarkets where you can stock up on provisions, many independent shops and plenty of good pubs, restaurants and takeaways.
The local pub/restaurant (The Goat) to the cottages is under ten minutes by car and offers a good atmosphere and a warm welcome. There is also a local garage/shop within a ten minute drive.

Tudor Cottage sleeps four guests (plus one) and is a real home from home which is fully up to date with broadband, Sky television (with full package of sports including ESPN and movies) and good mobile phone reception for all networks.
Accommodation comprises:
Ground floor
Lovely hallway with antique wooden staircase.
Comfortable lounge with feature fireplace, SKY television and DVD player.
Conservatory which affords fantastic views and has a good CD Hi-Fi.
Well equipped kitchen/dining room stocked with all the basics needed.
Large walk-in shower/wet room with separate WC.
First floor
Master bedroom with king-size bed, television and ensuite WC.
Twin bedroom with 3ft single zip and link beds that can be put together if required to make a super kingsize bed. This room also has wash basin and television with DVD player.
There is an additional single fold down bed if required, that can be put in either bedroom.
Outside: There is a private garden that is not overlooked by anyone and secure shed for bikes etc. BBQ, garden furniture, Chiminea and outdoor table tennis table provided. Communal laundry room in a separate barn with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a games room with full-sized pool table, television and dart board. Picnic benches are located in idyllic places within the grounds, where you can take in the great views. Guests have the shared use of the hot tub and sauna, along with the private lake with one acre of natural surrounding area (two canoes, two kayaks and life jackets are provided). There is plenty of private parking.
Additional information: Prices are fully inclusive of heating, electricity, linen and towels. Cot, highchair, stair gate and baby bath available if required. There is wireless broadband and iPod docking station. Tudor Cottage is suitable for those with allergies and asthma as all the bedding is hypoallergenic and all the floors are either tiled or wood. There is also a no smoking/pet policy.
Prices for short breaks: £85 per night for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and £80 per night for mid week (minimum two nights stay).

Better than home, not as many kids!!! Did exactly what I wanted to and that was chill, relax and sleep, have done plenty of all whilst boys became ‘countrified’, forget K Swiss and Lacoste, give them a pair of wellies and they’re happy.
Have seen this cottage develop from the shell that it was 17 years ago and this is the 1st time we’ve stayed in it. It is so much more than I expected, Linda and Lawrence perfect landlords and the boys are the ‘loveliest’; wonderfully refreshing for my 2 to spend so much time outside, ‘playing’ rather than on PS2s etc. How can it possibly fail to capture your heart and make you wish you could have this forever, even a townie like me.

Thanks for such a lovely time. Tudor Cottage cannot be beaten for peace and quiet, its wonderful location and its beautiful interior all add up to a perfectly serene time. We both needed a break from the hustle and bustle of our lives (not to mention some pretty horrible times we have had this year) and Tudor Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. Never before have I come across a holiday home which was a home in every sense of the word. Before now, we have always raced to get out of the place we have stayed and to go visiting somewhere during the day. Not so with Tudor Cottage!! We were so comfortable that just curling up on the sofa was the best way we could think of of spending the evening!!

Dear Lawrence and Linda,
As you know we recently arrived on your doorstep for the second time in as many months for a weekend break.
For me this was just what I needed. The views, the cottage with its wonderful feeling, the feeling of being AWAY from everything but not feeling cut off at all and the eggs!! I can't really find the right words to describe how it makes me feel, but it feels right.
The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful. You can tell how much work has gone into each room making it the place it is, so much attention to detail. The views are breathtaking. Everything is just right.
As you know we (or maybe just I) will be back as soon as I see there is a vacant space with the bookings!!

Next,now I have had time to get everything sorted out and I am now feeling 100% we wanted to send you an e-mail to thank-you so much for the wonderful two weeks we have just spent in the cottage. As I wrote in the visitors book we have never stayed anywhere like it. Everyone who I have shown my photos to have been very impressed by the high standard. Everything had been thought of especially where the children were concerned....they loved the pool table as you probably gathered!!! It was lovely as well for your boys to be so friendly with Iain and Shaun.We have some really good photos of them all and I will try and e-mail them through to you.We can easily see now why many people have returned and we all would love to visit again in the future.
