The Cottage is so much more than the simplicity of its name implies. Built from local stone and renovated to a high standard, the owners of The Cottage have created a luxurious haven overlooking the Irish Sea near Pistyll on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in North Wales. There is space for up to four people to sleep in two well-appointed bedrooms, with a layout that is as suitable for couples as it is for families and friends.
The Llyn Peninsula is a fantastic holiday destination at any time of the year, especially for people who enjoy spending time outdoors in beautiful natural surroundings. It is small enough to be easy to get around, even if your stay is short, yet packed with fantastic sights, fascinating history and friendly cafes and pubs where menus feature delicious local produce. Sailing, wakeboarding and surfing are all popular ways to enjoy the water, and there are regular boat trips from Pwllheli to see the seals and dolphins that thrive in Cardigan Bay.
Day trips from The Cottage can include a relaxing drive north along the coast to Caernarfon Castle which still awe inspires more than 1,000 years after its construction. Alternatively, head east to Portmeirion and admire the colourful buildings that represent the passion of one man. The Snowdonia National Park is within easy reach, and it's possible to reach the summit of Wales' highest peak between breakfast and dinner whether you walk or take a ride on the Victorian steam train that still carries visitors up and down the mountain a century after its maiden voyage.
Local attractions include Porth Neigwl beach, nicknamed Hell's Mouth, Criccieth Castle and beach, and Abersoch. Glasfryn Parc is a favourite with kids for its fun rides and play areas, or enjoy a lazy afternoon sunning yourself on peaceful Llanbedrog beach. It is possible to see Bardsey Island from the harbour village of Aberdaron from where regular boats run taking visitors from the mainland to the island nature reserve.
At the end of the day, return to The Cottage to enjoy a leisurely meal in the light summer evening, stargazing through the skylight as you soak in a deep bubble bath, or settled on the sofa in front of the log burner with your favourite box set in the winter. You will leave refreshed and rejuvenated, but you will also leave wanting to return to The Cottage again as soon as possible.
