Living
Away from the hustle and bustle of city living, Laurel is an idyllic, single-storey courtyard cottage with an enviable position in the heart of North Wales. Located on the edge of the Bodnant Estate and surrounded by working farms, this former stone stable has been thoughtfully converted to provide a light and airy interior with contemporary décor and cozy furnishings. There is as much, or as little, to do as you please; mountainous adventures, historic castles, sand and surf, or long lie-ins, a relaxing swim, and lazing in the hot tub looking out across the rugged beauty of the Conwy Valley. Laurel truly is the perfect base from which to explore North Wales and its spectacular landscapes.
Laurel sleeps four people in two bedrooms and has a modern open-plan layout that works well for couples and families, including those with dogs. Depending on availability, you can book it with Fig Tree, which sleeps five people, ideal for larger families or groups of friends who want to holiday together.
Walking and mountain biking are fantastic ways to enjoy the scale and the beauty of the surrounding landscape. Having Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park on the doorstep means that you'll never run out of places to explore, with excellent mountain bike trails just a few miles away in Gwydir Forest. Explore subterranean worlds at Zip World Llechwedd; or scare yourself silly on the fastest and longest zip wire in Europe at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry and on the highest giant swing at Zip World Betws-y-Coed.
You don't have to be an adrenaline junkie to enjoy yourself when you stay at Laurel. There are many attractions where you can slow down and relish spending time in such a beautiful location. Take a tour of Gwinllan Conwy Vineyard, tackle Conwy Valley Maze, wander around the house and gardens at Gwydir Castle, and take your binoculars and a picnic to the RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve. National Trust Bodnant Gardens are three miles from the cottage, while Conwy Water Gardens are only a few miles further. The Welsh Mountain Zoo and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Conwy Castle are all within easy reach for a day out, as is scenic Llandudno with its Victorian seafront and pier.
Laurel is a picture-perfect dog-friendly cottage with abundant charm and everything you need to spend an indulgent and restorative self-catering holiday in the country.
