Originally part of a courtyard stable block, Fig Tree has since been renovated to become a comfortable and stylish holiday home. The outstanding views and magical setting will leave you fully refreshed and wonderfully relaxed, the perfect rural getaway to share with family or friends. Fabulously located on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, the cottage is a great choice for keen walkers or those simply wanting to enjoy the great outdoors. And while you will enjoy a tranquil escape, the pretty market town of Llanwrst, where a variety of helpful amenities can be found, is only a ten minute drive away. Head towards the coast, and the medieval town of Conwy and seaside resort of Llandudno are less than thirty minutes away.
The two-bedroom property sleeps up to five people on one level. Well-equipped and extremely comfortable, the cottage is ideal for couples or families, including those with younger children and dogs. The open plan living space is flooded with natural light and there's plenty of room outdoors for playing and having fun, including a private hot tub and indoor swimming pool. It's one of two welcoming cottages on-site, the other being Laurel which sleeps four people in two bedrooms. Depending on availability, you can book both together for two families who want to holiday together without sacrificing their privacy. With an acre of grounds, a heated indoor swimming pool, and a location within easy reach of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park and the coast, it's a place to enjoy all year round.
A few miles down the quiet country lanes is the charming village of Eglwysbach where you can find the Bee Inn, a traditional country pub that serves local beers and tasty, home-cooked food. Also close by is the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre, with a well-stocked farm shop selling a wide range of local produce and a café where breakfast is highly recommended.
Bodnant Garden is three miles from the cottage. The 80-acre National Trust estate is a breathtaking sight and a lovely spot for a walk and a picnic or morning tea in the cafe. Conwy Water Gardens are also popular, with fishing lakes, a nature walk and play area, and a Dutch Pancake House providing a delicious alternative to teacakes. Other local attractions include Conwy Castle, bird watching at RSPB Conwy nature reserve and wetlands and the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
For those seeking their adrenaline fix, Zip World Conwy with its host of indoor adventures is located just across the valley and you're also within easy reach of Zip World Betws-y-Coed, Zip World Llechwedd and Zip World Penrhyn Quarry! Or, if you fancy more of a challenge, why not tackle one of the six routes that take you to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest mountain in Wales and England. Fig Tree is not only ideal for the mountains, it's also perfect for days at the coast. Pick up your groceries in the shadow of the magnificent Conwy Castle or wander along the seafront promenade and Wales' longest pier at Llandudno.
Fig Tree and Laurel are available for bookings all year round. Short breaks (minimum of two nights) are available outside of peak season, depending on availability.
