Set in the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and located between the M5 and A303, Cleve Farm is the ideal base for exploring the cultural and natural wonders of Somerset, Dorset (including the Jurassic Coastline), and Devon. For outdoor enthusiasts, there’s an abundance of activities to enjoy, such as countryside walks, cycling through lanes and gentle hills, and tennis. The nearest towns of Taunton, Honiton and Wellington are each just over 10 miles away, while the village of Churchinford, with its local pub and village store and post office, is only about 2 miles away.

The surrounding area
The Blackdown Hills AONB is a spectacular landscape with miles of footpaths, bridleways and cycling routes for fun days of exploration and adventure. Local walks include the nature reserve at Otterhead Lakes, once part of an expansive Victorian country estate and now a peaceful habitat with a diverse mix of flora and fauna. Stretch your legs walking around Brimley Hill Mire with features unique to the Blackdown Hills, or go a little further to the beautiful Gotleigh and Southey Moors. Some guests may be interested in RAF Upottery, a WWII airfield used by the RAF and United States Air Force and Navy during the D-Day operations. Other heritage sites in the Blackdown Hills include Dunkeswell Abbey and the Wellington Monument.
The Stables is only 20-minutes from the M5 (junction 25) or A303 and easy to get to places like Taunton, Wellington and Honiton for some shopping and sightseeing. Exeter's shops and cathedral are around a 40-minute drive from the cottage, while Glastonbury and Glastonbury Tor are around an hour's drive hour through stunning Somerset countryside and Cheddar Gorge, Bath and Bristol over an hour. Many supermarkets deliver groceries to The Stables, as do Riverford and Able & Cole. You can also pick up essentials at the village shops in Churchinford and Hemyock.

The Stables is a modern holiday cottage with original stone walls incorporated into the timer and slate structure. Accommodation is all on one level once inside and access into the property can either be via the entrance door where there are four steps taking you down into the living space, or for those with limited mobility, there is level entry via the French doors (a ramp can be provided for ease of access through the threshold - please notify the owners if this is needed). The Stables has solar panels and underfloor heating.
Ground floor accommodation (at garden level)
Outside: Private garden with a terrace, garden furniture and a fire pit. Guests have access to 24 acres of woodland and countryside. There is off-street parking for one car.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and robes are all provided. Smoking and pets are not permitted.

Behjat the owner couldn’t have been nicer and even offered us a food basket to save us going out in the rain. We were so relaxed the whole stay and didn’t want to leave. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and worth every penny! - Kelly
