Cossington Park House is a gorgeous period holiday home, set in a stunning location a few miles from the market town of Bridgwater in Somerset. Dating back to medieval times, it originally housed the workers who looked after the main Cossington Park estate. Having since been extended and tastefully refurbished, it now offers cosy and luxurious self-catering holiday accommodation to twelve lucky guests sleeping in six glorious bedrooms. With a kitchen, scullery and pantry for keen cooks and a decadent drawing room, cosy snug and elegant formal dining room, this unique property is fit for a king! The two woodburning stoves ensures everyone is cosy during the winter months, whilst the sunny conservatory is a lovely spot for a morning coffee at any time of year.
Step outside and you have 22 acres of gardens, meadows, orchards and woodlands to explore. Little kids will be happy for hours in the playhouse, whilst everyone can enjoy games, walks and picnics in the extensive grounds. Guests also have shared access to a pretty walled garden with fruit, vegetables and flowers as well as a badminton and football field. If you want to do something different without straying too far, the owners can arrange a variety of activities. Try your hand at archery or be wowed by a stunning falconry display. If you fancy a bit of pampering indulge in a massage and a glass of fizz, or enjoy a cream tea whilst playing croquet on the lawn. Keen cooks can enjoy an interactive cooking demonstration, whilst wine connoisseurs can test their knowledge at a wine tasting evening. If you are looking for something extra special you can even arrange for eight guests to take off from Cossington Park in a hot air balloon. It would be fair to say the owners of Cossington Park House have really thought of everything to ensure you have a special holiday in this unique holiday house.
With both the Quantock Hills and Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty nearby, there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities if you want to venture further afield. Alternatively, enjoy a round of golf at Cannington Golf Course, clay pigeon shooting at the Mendip Firing Range or caving in the Mendips. The infamous Cheddar Gorge and Caves and the Victorian seaside town of Weston-super-Mare are only half an hour away, and closer still is Burnham-on-Sea with its sandy beach. You can spend a day fossil hunting and rock pooling on Kilve Beach, climbing Glastonbury Tor or taking in the sights at the historic Roman city of Bath.
Cossington Park House sleeps twelve guests but you can also book Cossington Park Cottage which sleeps a further six guests for groups of up to 18 people with exclusive use of the whole estate, making it the perfect venue for a long over-due get together or celebration with family or friends. Park Cottage has a ground-floor bedroom and wheelchair-accessible bathroom.
