Ty Capel Saron embodies everything beautiful about North Wales. You can feel the years of history in the former stone chapel which the owners have transformed into a warm, welcoming self-catering cottage where up to 12 people can sleep in five very comfortable bedrooms. The peaceful setting is ideal for big families, extended families or groups of friends who want dramatic views and easy access to some of the best attractions and sights in the Snowdonia National Park.
Guests at Ty Capel Saron have lots of space and privacy yet are only three miles from Bethesda and less than nine miles from Bangor. There is a variety of excellent pubs, shops and cafes in both places, so it's simple to get everything you need for a self-catering holiday in Snowdonia whether you like to cook or not. There is also an excellent mix of all-weather attractions to make this a fantastic place for a holiday all year round.
One of the best ways to appreciate the scale and beauty of the landscape in Snowdonia is to leave the car and set out on foot. Experienced hikers will relish the challenge of climbing Carnedd Llewellyn and Carnedd Dafydd, with the 9-mile route that rises almost 3,200 feet and takes around seven hours. A more gentle walk is around the base of Llyn Idwal and the Glider Mountains, or around Melynllyn and the Dulyn Reservoir. Six different footpaths lead to the summit of Snowdon, with the easiest being the Llanberris Path which takes about six hours to walk the 9-miles to the summit and back. Alternatively, let the historic Snowdon Mountain Railway do the hard work getting you to the top, either taking the train or returning to base on foot.
Cyclists and mountain bikers are also spoiled for choice in this spectacular natural playground, with everything from smooth tarmac roads to technical downhills and cross-country singletrack loops that go for miles through the immense landscape. Guests at Ty Capel Saron are also close to Zip World, where the 5,000ft high zip line is not for the faint-hearted. Bounce Below, the incredible underground trampolining experience in ancient slate caverns is also close by, as are the Fforest Adventures tree top activities.
The beautiful beaches of Anglesey and the North Wales coast are only a short drive from Ty Capel Saron, as are historic sites such as Caernarfon Castle, Criccieth Castle and Harlech Castle. The Llyn Peninsula is also within reach for a fun day out, as is the colourful village of Portmeirion. Other local attractions include Surf Snowdonia, Greenwood Forest Park, Pili Palas Nature World, and Gypsy Wood Park.
You will love everything about Ty Capel Saron. The views are incredible with mountains on the doorstep and the entire national park as your playground. There is plenty to keep adrenaline junkies happy, gorgeous walks and spectacular views, as well as fun, family-friendly attractions to keep the kids entertained.

Ty Capel Saron is a solid stone building with thick walls to help keep the cottage at a comfortable temperature in every season, and spectacular views. Accommodation is over two levels.

Outside: The cottage has an enclosed garden and a patio, both of which have seating so that guests can make the most of the outstanding views. There is a lovely stream in the garden which is fenced off with a gate for access (children must be supervised at all times by the stream as sometimes it is very small and other times considerably larger). There is off-road parking for four cars.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and towels are all included, as is a basket of fuel for the log burner. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome with agreement from the owner. Smoking is not permitted. Cot and high chair available.
