Bwthyn Strathmore, the Cosy Cottage in the Corner with the fish, located in the delightful coastal village of Solva, offers a true ‘home from home’ holiday on the stunning Pembrokeshire coast. Once an 18th century fisherman's home this self-catering holiday cottage has retained its original character and charm with exposed wooden beams and high vaulted ceilings, whilst also providing comfortable and cosy accommodation. Sleeping two guests in one double bedroom it is an ideal spot for couples looking to explore this idyllic spot.
The pretty village of Solva, located on St David’s peninsula, has everything you need for a relaxing holiday by the sea. Enjoy lazy days on the beach, explore the rockpools and caves or fish for some crabs and shrimps in the harbour at low tide. Keen sailors can take to the helm in the harbour or if you prefer to keep your feet firmly on dry land you can enjoy browsing the boutique shops and galleries before treating yourself to a harbourside meal at one of the many fantastic pubs and restaurants. Or swap your flip flops for hiking boots and explore the miles and miles of stunning scenery along the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park where the footpath passes through the village. On your way home pick up a fresh dressed Solva crab and enjoy it with a glass of white wine on the patio at Bwthyn Strathmore.
For those who wish to explore a little further afield, it's just four miles east the large stretch of sands of Newgale beach. Its west facing aspect makes his popular spot the surfers and windsurfers. You can hire surfboards, book lessons, or simply watch the Atlantic waves roll in from the shore. 3 miles in the other direction is Britain's smallest city, St Davids. As well as visiting the magnificent cathedral you can explore the ruin of The Bishops Palace and the Oriel y Parc gallery. You can also go on a boat trip to the RSPB nature reserve on Ramsey Island where you are likely to see seabirds such as guillemots and razorbills, or adventure seekers can enjoy activities such as coasteering, sea kayaking or climbing.
Whether you are looking for an action packed holiday, or simply wanting to relax and unwind in a beautiful location, Bwthyn Strathmore is a true gem set in a fantastic location.
