The Barn leaves no detail unchecked in its quest to give you a wonderfully memorable holiday. The welcoming holiday home is in the picturesque village of Neyland, tucked away on a quiet residential street a short walk from the Rose & Willow pub, shops, takeaways, and other amenities useful for a self-catering holiday. There is space for five people and a baby to stay in the idyllic two-bedroom cottage, with one well-behaved dog also welcome. The Barn is a superb choice for couples, families, and friends who appreciate being close to stunning beaches, popular attractions and all the other delights of Pembrokeshire and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Neyland’s history dates back to the days of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, whose statue is near the marina. Brunel chose Neyland as the place from which people would travel to the New World having arrived there by rail from London. He was responsible for the construction of the largest railway station in Wales; the station serviced the Irish Packet Service which operated for 50 years, closing in 1906. In 1964, Neyland railway station and its accompanying lines fell victim to Dr Beeching’s axe and was closed. The site was redeveloped in the 1980s into what is now an award winning Marina. Guests can walk or cycle from the Marina on the Brunel trail which follows the old railway line as far as Haverfordwest.
Neyland is only a few miles east of historic Milford Haven - a friendly place where there is always something interesting happening. Far from being a seasonal tourist town, it is a fantastic place to stay in any season, not only for its amenities but also its proximity to some of the region's favourite sights and attractions. Stroll along the waterfront, stopping for a coffee or a bite to eat, to browse the boutiques, or simply to sit with a picnic and enjoy the sight of the boats coming and going. Milford Haven also has a theatre, museum, and bowling alley. In addition to the route around the marina, local walks include the Lower Priory Woodland Walk, the scenic Scotch Bay Stroll, and heritage trails showcasing the town's extensive history.
A trip to Pembrokeshire isn't complete without at least one day at the seaside. You're spoiled for choice when you stay at the Barn. Set up your sunlounger at Gelliswick, Freshwater West, or Sleeping Bay within 15-25 minutes of the cottage. Alternatives include Barafundle Bay, Tenby, and Manorbier. Still not happy? What about Marloes Sands, Broad Haven, Little Haven, or St Brides? There's a stretch of coastline for everyone, whether you want a secluded cove only accessible on foot via the coastal footpath, or you need a space for your surfboard, SUP, windsurfer, and fishing rods. Local attractions include Pembroke Castle, Folly Farm, St David's Cathedral, Blue Lagoon Waterpark, and Oakwood Theme Park. There are gardens and castles galore, farmers markets, and antique shops, and cafes and delis so good you'd consider moving home just to be close to them.
Pembrokeshire is a relaxing holiday destination for all seasons, with stunning views, superb food, historic sights and fun attractions. The Barn is available for bookings all year round.
