Beudy Gwyn is a place you can put your cares aside and simply enjoy spending time with your favourite people. The cottage is surrounded by unspoiled Pembrokeshire countryside and has fantastic sea views, and because there is space for up to six people, it is ideal for everyone from couples to families and friends. The Penparc location is perfect for exploring North Pembrokeshire, and only a few hundred yards from the popular Square and Compass pub where you can get real ale and a home-cooked meal (it's worth booking early for their Sunday carvery or Friday Steak Night).
Penparc is a peaceful hamlet close to beautiful beaches. Take a gentle stroll down a quiet country lane and, in around a mile, you will find yourself in the lively village of Trefin, sandwiched between the favourite beaches of Porthgain and Abercastle. In addition to a village pub, The Ship Inn, Trefin has a cafe, as well as a couple of galleries. Trefin is a lovely place to while away a few hours or to stop off and buy provisions for a tasty picnic.
If the Pembrokeshire countryside is lovely, then the beaches are spectacular and as good as any you will find anywhere in the world. Aberfelin is a short walk from Trefin, with rock pools that kids love to explore at low tide with a beach that is a mix of sand and shingle, and pleasantly sheltered thanks to the surrounding cliffs. Also nearby, the Blue Lagoon is both a beauty spot and an adventure lover’s paradise. The former slate mine was abandoned and left to flood over a century ago and is now a popular location for coasteering (Celtic Quest also run half day coasteering adventures from Abereiddy Bay) and diving - notably the Red Bull Cliff Diving competition - as well as being a heavenly beauty spot for walkers and photographers to enjoy.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is easy to explore with over 500 miles of public rights of way in addition to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail. Bring your bike and cycle sweeping country lanes and challenging off-road paths, or book a trekking session at one of several nearby stables to enjoy seeing the sights from horseback.
Beudy Gwyn is only around six miles from both Fishguard and St Davids. Fishguard is a lively town with a reputation for great music and excellent food, while historic St Davids is Britain’s smallest city with a magnificent cathedral and an artistic community. You can take a day trip from St Davids to Ramsey Island, or spend a happy few hours browsing the galleries displaying the work of local artists before refuelling with a home-cooked meal at one of the city’s numerous pubs or cafes. Pembrokeshire’s country town, Haverfordwest, is also within easy driving distance of the cottage, offering a broad choice of shops, places to eat and drink, a cinema, castle, museum and other entertainment.
Whether you are an active family with children who love to explore and be entertained or you want a peaceful holiday where you can slow the pace right down and relax, you will find Beudy Gwyn a comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
