The Grain Store is a beautiful self-catering cottage in Pembrokeshire with plenty of space to sleep up to six people in three bedrooms and a layout that suits couples as much as families and friends. The location is ideal for a relaxing holiday, being close to the Pembrokeshire National Park and Haverfordwest and only two miles from Newgale Sands.
Pembrokeshire is a favourite holiday destination regardless of the season or how much time you spend there. The landscape is a mix of fertile farmland that produces amazing food, rolling countryside, hills, mountains and, of course, the famous Pembrokeshire coast with soft sandy beaches linked by the Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath. Whether your preferred activity level defaults to calm or hair-raising, there is an adventure here waiting for you.
One of the biggest attractions for visitors to Pembrokeshire is the coast. The beaches are perfect and offer everything from sheltered waters, and soft sand to deserted coves accessible only via steep steps cut into the cliff. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath covers the 186 miles of coast between St Dogmaels to Amroth encompassing everything from limestone cliffs to volcanic headlands and providing stunning views along the way. The footpath is only 3.5 miles from the cottage, and the route between Newgale Sands and Druidston is especially lovely.
Cycling and mountain biking are two more popular ways to enjoy the scenery. The Preseli Mountains reward uphill climbs with breathtaking views, while road routes include the Celtic Trail and those developed by Pembrokeshire Greenways. Nearby, Llys-y-Fran Country Park has a good choice of tracks to suit all abilities, with bike hire available for guests who need it.
Days out can include fishing, golf, beachcombing or mooching around pretty villages and towns like Solva or Narbeth. Britain's smallest city, St David's, is only a short drive from the cottage, with a stunning cathedral and an impressive history, or visit attractions like Pembroke Castle, the Welsh Spitfire Museum or Folly Farm.
There are five fantastic cottages at Asheston Eco Barns, each of which can be booked independently or together to accommodate groups of up to 29 people. More information is available on the owner's website.
