About Bryn Tivy

Bryn Tivy, is a charming stone cottage built in the late 1800's that has been fully renovated to provide a relaxed and cosy space. The large garden is a joy with lawn, flower beds, a large decking area to catch the evening sun and an elevated terrace that is perfect for a late breakfast/morning coffee offering views to the estuary and beyond. The cottage is situated in an elevated position above the ancient abbey in a peaceful location with rare off road parking and an EV charger.

St Dogmaels sits on the banks of the River Teifi bordering Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. It is a large village with many conveniences including the post office, general store, and gallery. The Abbey has an adjoining cafe and small museum and is opposite a working water mill where Emma, the miller, sells organic flour and bread. There is a charming community pub which offers good food, real ales and a variety of activities. St Dogmaels is at the start of the long distance Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and the gateway to the Pembrokeshire national park. A perfect place for those who love the outdoors and nature. Boat trips are available locally to take you around Cardigan Island and the coast with frequent sightings of seal, dolphins and various seabirds. Poppit Sands a blue flag beach is 1.5 miles away. It offers a huge sandy beach, sand dunes a cafe and RNLI shop and is the perfect place for swimming, surfing, kayaking etc. Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round.

The charming Cardigan town is a 20 minute walk away with its castle, cafes, excellent restaurants, theatre/cinema and many independent shops. Also local is Cilgerran with its ancient castle and Wildlife Centre on the banks of the river; perfect for bird watching. Further inland are the ancient mystical Preseli Mountains, with their diverse ecosystem, many prehistoric sites (the source of Stonehenge bluestones), scattered settlements, wild ponies and sheep. Travelling north into Ceredigion you will find many coastal villages, towns and harbours as well as beautiful countryside.
