The Cart House is one of five luxury self-catering cottages in Pembrokeshire. The beautiful property is built of local stone and boasts strong eco-friendly credentials to help protect and preserve the landscape in which it sits. The three-bedroom cottage comfortably accommodates up to six guests. It is ideal for couples, families and friends who want to explore the countryside of West Wales and the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Pembrokeshire is a fantastic year-round holiday destination as it has something to offer everyone in every season. It is probably best known to holidaymakers for its beautiful beaches which are sandy with clean waters and ideal for sunny days at the seaside, coasteering, surfing and kiteboarding. The Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath is a perennial favourite made easy to explore with regular bus services to help walkers return to their point of origin. Hills and mountains are a welcome playground for hikers and mountain bikers, while anglers have their choice of rivers and lakes.
Just looking at the rich, fertile farmland around The Cart House will give you a clue as to how good the local produce is. There is never any reason to suffer a tasteless meal when in Pembrokeshire when it is so easy to eat well. The cottage's kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering so stock up at the Farmers' Market on Friday morning or Fishguard on Saturday morning, or pay a visit to one of the area's excellent farm shops. There is a wealth of independent cafes, pubs and restaurants serving from seasonal home-cooked menus if you don't feel like cooking, and eager gourmands should book out the last weekend in September to attend the Narbeth Food Festival.
Days out can include strolling around the pretty harbourside town of Solva - once the haunt of smugglers and pirates but now an excellent place to browse art galleries and enjoy a cup of coffee. Britain's smallest city, St David's, is also within easy reach, with a magnificent cathedral and thriving community. Take a boat trip from St Bride's Bay, see where Henry VII was born in Pembroke Castle or brave the steep cliff-face steps to reach St Govan's Chapel.
The Cart House can be booked on its own or together with one or more of the other self-catering cottages on-site to accommodate groups of friends or extended family. Please see the owner's website for more details.
