Whether you bring your bike, horse or just your walking boots you are guaranteed an outdoor adventure with the tracks and trails of Gisburn Forest (superb for mountain bikers), Pendle Hill and Bowland itself to discover.
For those looking to explore the wider area, the Yorkshire Dales National Park with its endless attractions is within easy driving distance. The coastline is also within easy reach with the bright lights of Blackpool, and the tranquil beauty of Morecambe Bay having much appeal for a day by the sea. Or why not head to the Lake District for a day seeing some of Cumbria's finest sights.
Alternatively, stay closer to home and take a trip on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway - one of the country's most scenic routes, or explore the abundance of picturesque little villages by car or bike. The attractive market town of Skipton is just over fifteen miles and the smaller market town of Settle is twelve. Lancashire's ancient market town of Clitheroe is even closer and just eight miles from the cottage offering an excellent choice of specialist shops including its renowned Sausage Shop with a choice of over seventy five different varieties!

Mallard Cottage Continued
Mallard cottage is perfect for large groups of friends or family that want to self-cater. The property is semi-detached and can accommodate up to eight guests (plus two toddlers in two cots). For those with limited mobility, the ground floor has a bedroom with flexible zip and link beds that can be made up as a twin or super-king and also a wet room, all wheelchair accessible.

- Wet room with shower chair and toilet riser seat if required.
- Living room with comfy seating, flat-screen television, DVD and CD players along with iPod docking and open fire for cosy nights in.
- Kitchen with dining table and chairs, dishwasher, cooker, microwave, fridge and cupboards with a good range of crockery, utensils, glasses, pots and pans (there is a freezer and washer/dryer in an outside area for guests use).

Outside: At the back of the property is a patio for the private use of guests, along with a shared garden guests are welcome to use - lovely views can be enjoyed over the Ribble Valley. A barbecue is available for alfresco dining in the warmer months.
Additional information: Children are welcome and there is plenty or room to let of steam outside in the play area which includes a slide, swings, playhouse and climbing frame. Towels and bedlinen are provided and heating and electricity are also included in the price. Two travel cots (including bedding) and high chairs are available, along with a good range of baby equipment by arrangement to make your holiday less stressful. No smoking and unfortunately no pets.
