Miller Moss is a beautiful self-catering family cottage in the Lake District, providing 5 Star Gold accommodation with lovely views of Eden Valley and Warnell Fell. There is room for up to four people to sleep in two bedrooms, with the dog-friendly cottage being a favourite with families who appreciate extra space. Miller Moss is one of nine stunning luxurious properties at Monkhouse Hill, and the owners have collected an impressive array of awards in recognition of the high standard of accommodation they provide. The cottage sits in five acres of private grounds in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside, close to the border of the Lake District National Park. Membership of the North Lakes Spa hotel leisure club with swimming pool, sauna and the latest gym equipment is included in your stay.
While the cottage is comfortable enough that you may never want to leave, you won’t be able to resist exploring the beautiful surroundings. It is only a 15-minute drive from the M6 and you can easily access the best parts of the Northern Fells of the Lake District, including Bassenthwaite, Derwentwater and Ullswater, the latter of which boasts a fleet of vintage boats to offer visitors a unique sightseeing experience. Many of the guests who stay at Monkhouse Hill do so not only for the superb accommodation but its proximity to the Caldbeck Fells, Skiddaw, the Catbells and Blencathra. Take a picnic to enjoy at the top, or satisfy your ravenous appetite at the bottom at one of the fantastic country pubs around Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket (which has Britain's first cooperative pub), both of which are only three miles from the cottage.
Keswick is around a half-hour’s drive from the cottage, providing a wide variety of shops as well as attractions like the Puzzle Museum, Derwent Pencil Museum, and the Lakes Distillery. Penrith is even closer, boasting an imposing castle, museum, shops and places to eat and drink. Other Lake District attractions include the World of Beatrix Potter, Honister Slate Mine, Go Ape in Whinlatter, the Lake District Wildlife Park, indoor and outdoor play and adventure centres, and golf courses.
Whether you are a family with active children or a couple with babies or toddlers, the high standard of accommodation and child-friendly extras at Miller Moss will ensure your holiday is memorably special.
