About The Garden Annexe

Perfect for couples with plenty of space, The Garden Annexe offers self-catering accommodation and is an excellent base from which to explore the many attractions of Hayling Island, Portsmouth and the picturesque cathedral city of Chichester.

With an action packed events calendar, the surrounding area offers some of the country's most popular water and land based events including Glorious Goodwood for race goers in July and also its World Car Event in June and Classic Cars festival in September; Southsea Kite Festival in August; Virgin Kitesurfing Armada in June; Americas World Cup in Portsmouth during July; and the Victorious Music Festival in Southsea in August to name just a few.

For those who enjoy being outdoors, the local area has plenty of cycling and walking opportunities. Explore Hayling Billy Coastal Trail which is accessible within a few minutes walk of the apartment or make the most of the water-based activities which are plentiful including kitesurfing, sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Birdwatchers are also in for a treat with three reserves in the local area to visit.

Portsmouth is only twenty minutes away with its excellent shopping and attractions including the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays with restaurants, cafes and a designer outlet, and Spinnaker Tower for one of the best views in the country. Chichester is another popular choice for shoppers with its designer boutiques and big names, as well as arts galleries, cafes and restaurants. The Port Solent and the South Downs National Park are also within easy reach for great days out.

Sitting on the edge of Hayling Island, The Garden Annexe is easily accessible from major motorways. The island has five miles of coastline dotted with sandy and shingle beaches and provides the perfect mix of traditional seaside charm and excellent water sports. There are two pubs for those who want a meal out within a one mile walk and major food stores on both the island and in nearby Havant.

Spend your days exploring the areas many attractions, having fun on the water and relaxing on a beach, then take a stroll as the sunsets along the Hayling Billy Trail - the perfect end to the day.

Location (Hampshire)

The apartment sleeps two guests in two rooms and comprises:

  • Living room for eating, dining and relaxing with comfy seating, well equipped kitchen area (including a large fridge/freezer, electric cooker with extractor over, Tassimo Suna Coffee machine and microwave) and dining table with two chairs. There is a sofa bed that can accommodate an additional two guests.
  • Double bedroom off the living room with en-suite shower room (including a WC and wash basin).

Outside: The apartment is an annexe behind the owners bungalow which affords its own small attractive garden space (enclosed so secure for dogs) where you can sit out on the patio (solar lighting provided) and enjoy a glass of wine or BBQ in the warmer months (patio set provided for guests relaxation). There is also an Intech hot tub available between April to September (when booking please check with the owner that it is available just in case the owner is away and not able to maintain it). Strict safety rules must be adhered to when using the hot tub which guests have the shared use of with the owners (who rarely interrupt guests pleasure!).

Additional information: A breakfast hamper is provided for guests staying two nights or longer with goodies from the local farm shop - a lovely welcome! The apartment is pet friendly. Washing machine provided. Short breaks available all year round (no minimum number of nights!).
