Ty Garan is a 5-star property in the idyllic village of St Florence, within walking distance of the village store and the 18th century Sun Inn. The detached home sits back from the lane and is surrounded by private gardens. Its elevated position affords wonderful views of the Ritec river and countryside. There is space for eight guests in four bedrooms, making Ty Garan perfect for large and extended families to enjoy a wonderful holiday by the world-famous Pembrokeshire coast.
St Florence is a charming village that takes its name from the beautiful 12th Century church dedicated to St Florentius. Although Ty Garan is very well equipped for ease of self-catering, there are several options if you prefer to eat out. As well as the Sun Inn, which serves decent pub food and has a takeaway menu, there is the Parsonage Farm Inn which serves pub meals. There is also an award winning cafe in the garden centre. The village store is well stocked with a wide variety of essentials and local produce, and it is possible to pre-order your groceries for delivery when you arrive.
Four miles east of St Florence, the pastel coloured houses above Tenby harbour are one of Pembrokeshire’s best known sights. Tenby has three Blue Flag beaches and a great choice of places to eat, drink and shop. It can get crowded during high summer but with two miles of beaches there's plenty of room for everyone. An added bonus is that the ancient walled town is pedestrianised during the summer months. Farther afield you will find a multitude of beautifully clean beaches where the summer tourists are thinner on the ground, such as Manorbier, Barafundle Bay, Broad Haven South and Marloes Sands.
There are a wealth of wonderful ways to pass the time in Pembrokeshire if you want more than a simple bucket-and-spade holiday. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path runs for 186 miles from St Dogmaels near Cardigan to Amroth in the south, affording ramblers incredible views. Coasteering offers another way to explore the coastline, as you clamber over rocks and jump into the sea. Surfing, sailing, fishing, sea kayaking, cycling and horse riding are all other popular pastimes.
Spend a day in the Georgian market town of Narberth or Pembroke, where you can see Henry VII’s birthplace in Pembroke Castle. St Davids should certainly be on your itinerary, for its magnificent cathedral and welcoming community. Folly Farm is a fantastic family-friendly attraction with a huge variety of animals and all-weather activities. Even closer to St Florence are The Dinosaur Park, Heatherton World of Activities, Manor Wildlife Park and Carew Castle.
The pace of life is slower and more relaxed in Pembrokeshire, yet a stay at Ty Garan will fly past in a blur of fun days and comfortable evenings spent with the people you love the most.
