The Lookout at Tregib is a whimsical woodland haven. Drift off to the soothing sound of a babbling brook and wake up surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves, with leafy views from the holiday cottage and the verandah. The property, fully accessible for wheelchair users, offers a peaceful and tranquil escape for all. It's a place that feels like a treehouse yet is firmly rooted on the ground, just a stone's throw from Llandeilo in the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Park. The charming home is well-equipped for simple self-catering, and for those who prefer dining out, the Tregyb Arms and the Torbay Inn in Tregib are just a ten-minute walk away.
Tregib, conveniently located just two miles from Llandeilo in the Tywi Valley, offers easy access by foot, bike, or car to the bustling market town. Here, you'll find a wealth of independent shops and restaurants, as well as the romantic ruins of National Trust Dinefwr Park and Castle. The untamed beauty of Bannau Brycheiniog's mountains and lakes are right on your doorstep, inviting you to explore on foot, by bike, or even take a refreshing swim. For a more leisurely day, why not spend a few hours admiring the stunning planting at Aberglasney Gardens and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales.
One of the many reasons people love to holiday here is the sheer variety of sights and attractions. From touring the ancient Carreg Cennen Castle to surfing the waves at the Gower Peninsula, each day brings a new adventure. Uncover the history of the Roman Goldmines at Dolaucothi near Pumsaint, then follow it up with a fun visit to Folly Farm or a day of relaxation on the beaches at Tenby. The Lookout is nestled in the grounds of Ty Cefn Tregib, where the owners have spent decades lovingly transforming former farm buildings into a rural retreat, complete with bluebell woods and breathtaking views.
NEW FOR 2026 The newly created Towy Valley Cycle Path starts just down the road at Ffairfach and follows the route of the old Llandeilo to Carmarthen railway along the valley floor passing close to Aberglasney Gardens, Dryslwyn Castle, National Botanic Garden of Wales and the Bishop's Palace museum, all the way into Carmarthen. A beautiful safe cycling or walking route to explore our lovely valley.
