Skylark Cottage is a beautifully presented one-bedroom holiday home for couples or small families, set across the first and second floors of a characterful, converted Cotswold watermill. With a ground-level private entrance, the cottage leads upstairs to a warm, welcoming living space, thoughtfully furnished for a comfortable, self-catering stay. The first floor features a bright lounge with a double sofa bed, a dining area, and a kitchen fully equipped for preparing relaxed meals. On the top floor, the spacious attic bedroom includes a double bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. The cottage also includes free WiFi, towels, bedding, and an allocated parking space nearby - a rarity in Bourton-on-the-Water! Pets are welcome for a small additional charge.
Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the most popular and picturesque villages in the Cotswolds, making Skylark Cottage an excellent base for a short break or longer stay. Just a short walk from the cottage, guests can browse local shops, enjoy cream teas in traditional tea rooms, and dine in cosy pubs and restaurants dotted along the River Windrush. Attractions in the village include the much-loved Model Village, Birdland Park & Gardens, and the Cotswold Motoring and Toy Museum, located right next door. With a well-stocked shop, bakery and deli all close by, self-catering here is simple and enjoyable.
Venture further afield and discover the best of the Cotswolds within an hour's drive. Explore nearby market towns like Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Cirencester, or plan a day out to historic Sudeley Castle or Blenheim Palace. Beautiful walking trails go virtually from the doorstep and lead to nearby villages such as Upper and Lower Slaughter, or slightly further to Wyck Rissington and the Oxfordshire Way. Skylark Cottage offers a peaceful, well-positioned retreat in one of the Cotswolds ' most scenic spots, whether you're soaking in countryside views, discovering charming antique shops, or relaxing in a pub garden.
