About Riverside

Riverside is an impressive holiday home in the Cotswolds, sleeping six people in three bedrooms with fantastic period features. You could not wish for a more picturesque location than here, on the banks of the River Windrush in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, steps from the water with a private walled courtyard and parking for 2/3 cars. The self-catering amenities include a designer kitchen with a classic cream AGA and all you'll need to cook and serve meals for friends and family. Making your holiday even more relaxed and enjoyable are fantastic restaurants and pubs like the riverfront Kingsbridge just a short stroll from the door.

There's a reason why Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the most famous villages in the Cotswolds. It is one of the prettiest places in England, with Cotswold stone properties and a clutch of independent businesses that includes the Victorian Christmas Shop for a festive fix 12 months of the year. It has a history dating as far back as the Stone Age. Its fame can make visitors think Bourton is bigger than it is, but you can comfortably walk from one end to the other in under ten minutes. However, why would you rush when it's much more pleasant to meander, admiring the swans gliding along the water and the ducks taking their morning nap beneath the boughs of a weeping willow? Day trippers create a lively buzz as they see the famous stone bridge and attractions like Birdland, the Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, The Model Village, and the Dragonfly Maze.

From Bouton-on-the-Water, exploring the wider Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is easy. The village is on the Roman road, the Fosse Way, linking it with Upper and Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Moreton-in-Marsh. Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Stratford-Upon-Avon are all within easy driving distance for days out, and there is a wealth of footpaths for scenic exploration. Accommodation Comprises:

Riverside is a beautiful detached stone holiday home on the bank of the River Windrush with waterfront views and a central village location.

Downstairs:

  • An elegant sitting room features a decorative stone fireplace, three plump sofas, mullioned windows with a leafy outlook, and a TV with a DVD player and Freeview channels.
  • The spacious kitchen/diner has a traditional AGA and an electric oven and stove, as well as all of the other appliances and equipment necessary for family self-catering.
  • A downstairs cloakroom has a door opening into the garage/utility room where there is a washing machine and tumble dryer.

Upstairs:

  • All bedrooms are upstairs. Bed linens and bath towels are included when you book Riverside. There is space for a cot, though guests will need to bring this (as well as a stairgate and a high chair if these are required).
  • The master bedroom has a superking (6ft-wide) bed with a walk-in wardrobe/dressing room. An ensuite has a bath, separate shower, WC and a handbasin.
  • Bedroom Two is a lovely double with a king-sized bed and an ensuite shower room.
  • Bedroom Three also has a king-sized bed and storage. It has sole use of the family shower room, which also has a WC and handbasin.

Outside: Riverside has water views, a walled patio with an outdoor dining area, and parking for 2/3 cars.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Smoking and dogs are not permitted.
