Stable End Cottage is a gorgeous stone holiday cottage in the Pembrokeshire village of Stepaside, close to beaches and favourite attractions like the hugely popular Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo. Formerly a cowshed, it has been beautifully converted into a wonderfully comfortable holiday home with space for four people to sleep in two bedrooms and a layout that suits couples or families. The house sits peacefully in the grounds of 400-year-old Bangeston Farmhouse, where the owners live and are on hand to greet guests. Stable End is family and pet-friendly, with an enclosed secure courtyard garden for exclusive use of guests and lovely walks from the door. The village shop and pub are a short walk away via a country lane, and there's no passing traffic or light pollution to interrupt your peace.
Stepaside is a quiet village with beautiful views over the Pembrokeshire countryside towards Saundersfoot Bay. Wisemans Bridge, Amroth, Telpyn and Saundersfoot beaches are less than three miles away, with sandy shorelines and calm water suitable for swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding. Perennially popular Tenby is around 20 minutes from the cottage, with its three beaches, scenic harbour and an array of cafes and restaurants, and breathtaking Barafundle Bay - voted one of the best beaches in the world - is just over half an hour's drive. Staying at Stable End Cottage means you can choose a different beach every day, never running out of sandy expanses and sheltered coves to sunbathe, swim, surf, and rockpool.
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path spans 186 miles between Amroth and St Dogmael's, helping you further explore this beautiful part of Britain. The sights are spectacular in all seasons. The path near Stable End Cottage routes walkers along the sand and through woodland with views of Caldey Island, Gower and, on a clear day, as far as Devon. There's a great choice of Pembrokeshire cycle routes, including one from Stepaside to Wiseman's Bay and Amroth, catering for cyclists.
Family-friendly local attractions include Folly Farm, Oakwood Theme Park, and the Blue Lagoon Water Park. Foodies will enjoy being close to Narberth's respected farmers' market and independent shops, while anglers can try their luck fishing from the beach or at a local fishery. There are castles at Pembroke, Haverfordwest, Narberth, and many other fun attractions like The Reptile Experience in Saundersfoot.
Stable End Cottage has a sister cottage next door. Depending on availability, you can book the two for families on holiday together.
