About Fort Cottage 3

Fort Cottage 3 has some of the finest views in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. That's a big statement, but you'll readily agree when you see this charming holiday cottage, which is only three minutes from the Quay, situated at the end of a narrow private lane overlooking the harbour and St Brides Bay.

Skilful design and local materials have created a relaxing space with contemporary touches like underfloor heating and a waterfront balcony. You can have breakfast with waterfront views and relax with wine as the sun sets. It's ideal for couples and solo visitors who want to experience the coast's beauty in all its natural splendour.

Solva is as pretty as a picture, so it's no surprise that it's inspired generations of artists. You can step outside the front door and onto the coastal footpath where one direction goes to St Davids while the other way leads to Newgale. Though fishing is no longer on the scale as it was 200 years ago, Solva is still an excellent place for a spot of sailing and some succulently fresh lobster. Four pubs, three restaurants, and a village shop cover all your cooking or dining out needs.

Spend a relaxed day wandering around St Davids. Though classed as a city due it its magnificent cathedral, it feels more like a busy village with cafes, shops, restaurants, and galleries showcasing work from local artists.

Accommodation Comprises:

Fort Cottage 3 is made using local materials to blend comfortably into its natural setting. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • A stylish open-plan layout allows natural light to fill the ground floor all day. Slate floors and white walls give it a timeless country feel. There is a big corner sofa near the log burner where you can snuggle in the evening with a book or a film.
  • Great design and efficient appliances make the kitchen a pleasant place to cook. There's a separate dining table with comfortable chairs for romantic meals for two. Open the stable door on nice days to allow the sea breeze in.
  • Steam muscles tired from coastal walks in the tiled shower room where there is a WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Climb the bespoke staircase to the spacious bedroom furnished with a double bed, a coordinating wardrobe, bedside tables and reading lights. There are sea views from the windows and French doors opening onto the balcony.

Outside: The cottage has a first-floor balcony with a glass balustrade to make it safe without blocking the stunning views. A separate building has shared laundry facilities. There is seating up there and as well as on the ground floor outside the cottage. Although the cottage has parking for one car, less experienced drivers or those with big vehicles may prefer to use alternate parking a three-minute walk away.

Additional Information: Utilities and bedding are included—guests to bring bed linen, bath towels and beach towels. One well behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted in Fort Cottage 3.
