Fort Cottage 2 is situated in an enviable location overlooking the harbour in the pretty village of Solva in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Blending modern day comforts with the traditional charm of a 17th Century fisherman’s cottage, the property is perfect for families, friends or couples who want to explore the natural beauty of this corner of West Wales. Fort Cottage 2 sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is close to popular attractions such as St Brides Bay and the city of St Davids.
Keen walkers can step outside the cottage and join the famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path which includes 186 miles of stunning footpaths. For those who prefer to spend their time at the beach at low tide there is a huge expanse of sand, perfect for building sandcastles or exploring rockpools. Watersports enthusiasts can try their hand at canoeing or sailing, whilst at high tide big and little kids alike will love trying to catch fish and crabs. The village has a general store and for those evenings when you would prefer not to cook there are three pubs and three cafes and restaurants.
St Davids, the smallest city in Britain, is just three miles away. If you would prefer to leave the car at home you can enjoy the three-mile ramble along the coastal footpath to get here. With a stunning cathedral, thriving arts community and the medieval Bishop’s Palace there is plenty to keep you entertained here. You can also hop on board a boat to Ramsey Island where you might be lucky enough to spot dolphins.
Beach lovers will be spoilt for choice with the number of gorgeous beaches dotted along the Pembrokeshire coastline. Catch some waves at Whitesands and Newgale beach, or head to the quieter cove of Caerfai just ten minutes away. Broadhaven is a popular choice for families, whilst those looking to get off the beaten track will love the secluded beach at Porthlysgi.
Fort Cottages 2 is available for bookings from March to October.
