Sitting alongside the River Bure, in the popular Broadland village of Wroxham, Marchesi Cottage provides a modern yet cosy waterside retreat for up to four guests. Perfectly placed right in the very heart of the Norfolk Broads, guests can enjoy views over the river and great amenities on the doorstep including pubs and restaurants for a meal out, fishing when in season, boat hire, shops and wildlife to watch.
Close to Wroxham's iconic bridge, you can spend your days cruising or paddling the magical waterways, walking alongside the river or simply sitting back and watching the antics on the water with an abundance of wildlife and boats coming and going. Hire a bike and explore the country lanes and cycle routes including the nine mile path alongside the Bure Valley Railway which takes you to Aylsham; or for something more leisurely, hop on the the steam train and enjoy the scenery in an effortless fashion. There are also river cruises for those who prefer to let someone else show them the sights, and a trip to the world's biggest village store (Roys) is a must (if only to stock up on provisions).
Whilst there is plenty to do on the doorstep, Norfolk beckons with an abundance of attractions to suit all tastes. Head to the coast for a day on the beach at Cromer, Sheringham or Great Yarmouth for some proper old fashioned seaside fun. The little ones will love the rock pools at East Runton, as well as a day at BeWilderwood Adventure Park. Sandringham Estate is a favourite with all ages (and also the Royals!), as is the bustling historic city of Norwich with its shops, restaurants, museums and castle.
With two comfy bedrooms, modern conveniences, plenty of living space, and direct access to the river (plus views from the cottage), Marchesi Cottage offers all the right ingredients for a relaxing holiday at any time of the year.
