About Sunny Bank Cottage

Sunny Bank Cottage is a beautiful Cumbrian holiday cottage on a quiet lane close to the centre of Keswick with its plentiful shops, cafes, pubs and other amenities. The traditional house has a fresh, contemporary feel with the owners creating a stylish self-catering getaway where up to four people can sleep in two comfortable bedrooms. Cumbria and the Lake District are an unforgettable holiday destination with views that will take your breath away in any season. It's ideal for couples and families who want their accommodation to be as much a part of their happy holiday memories as the sights they see and the activities they enjoy.

Keswick is the perfect base for a self-catering holiday in the Lake District. The market town has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with an excellent array of independent businesses providing everything you need. It's the most significant town in the Northern Lakes, and visitors have easy access not only to the gorgeous landscape of the national park but also to Hadrian's Wall and the Solway Coast. Visitors can climb Skiddaw, England's highest peak, or marvel at the depths of Derwentwater. Fell walking and mountain biking are two understandably popular ways to enjoy the landscape with trails in Catbells, Skiddaw, Blencathra and Whinlatter.

Local attractions include the Cumberland Pencil Museum, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, Hope Park, Castlerigg, Fitz Park and the Theatre by the Lake. When the weather is sunny, take a trip on Derwentwater Launches, and when it rains, you can head indoors to the climbing centre, Alhambra Cinema or the indoor swimming pool. Further afield but still within reach for a day out are Ullswater, Cockermouth and Windermere.

Accommodation Comprises:

Sunny Bank Cottage has accommodation over two levels with modern touches such as underfloor heating on the ground floor and high-quality appliances.

Downstairs:

  • Shed your boots and your coat in the outdoor porch before stepping through the front door into a welcoming living area.
  • Living room with two two-seater couches, a Smart TV, and an electric flame-effect fire. The owner's choice of furnishings and colours flow through the house to create a stylish and unified effect with a timeless appeal.
  • Light and spacious kitchen/diner with glazed French doors that open onto the south-facing patio and the enclosed garden at the rear of the house. The fitted units are painted in a bold blue colour that works perfectly with the mid-century style table and the modern appliances. The kitchen is well-equipped for family catering and includes a coffee machine.
  • Utility room with a washer/dryer, and a cloakroom with a WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Master bedroom with a king-sized bed, bedside tables and reading lights, TV and open storage. The tiled ensuite has a shower, heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.
  • Twin bedroom with two full-sized (3ft-wide) single beds, bedside tables, reading lights and open storage. The ensuite shower room also has a heated towel rail, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: The cottage has a sunny, south-facing patio and barbecue area, secure bike storage, and a hardstanding off-street car park at the front.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. A cot (no bedding) and high chair are available. Dogs and smoking are not permitted.

Please note that although no pets are allowed, the owners occasionally stay with their dogs.
