All Saints Room is a truly unique holiday home, combining historic architecture with exceptional modern comfort in the heart of Cockermouth. Once a 19th-century church hall and the school of the poet William Woodsworth, this Grade II listed building has been reimagined as a glamorous retreat for up to 20 guests, where opulence runs through every detail. Step inside and prepare to be wowed by a soaring vaulted ceiling adorned with glittering chandeliers in the vast entertainment hall, setting the tone for a stay that’s every bit as dramatic as it is inviting. From elegant dining beneath the beams to cocktails at the private bar, this space is made for gathering, celebrating and lingering late into the night. There's a spa suite in the former crypt, a games area, and lavish bedroom suites featuring freestanding baths and Smart TVs - All Saints Room delivers a level of luxury rarely found in self-catering accommodation.
Outside your door you will find a river flowing right behind the property, perfect for riverside walks. Cockermouth itself blends historic character with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Famed as the birthplace of William Wordsworth, the Georgian streets are lined with independent shops, cafés, and inviting pubs, including the popular Bitter End that's within walking distance of the house, and Bush Inn. Food lovers will appreciate artisan bakeries and farm shops, while those seeking a relaxed evening meal can choose from Italian, Indian, and contemporary British menus at restaurants like Tarantella or Wild Zucchini Bistro. There’s plenty to explore on foot, from the riverside paths to the fascinating Wordsworth House & Garden and the town’s art galleries. For a little local flavour, don’t miss Jennings Brewery or a show at the Kirkgate Arts Centre.
All Saints Room is perfectly placed for discovering the quieter, unspoilt western fells of the Lake District. Within 15 minutes you’ll find the serene waters of Crummock and Buttermere, framed by dramatic peaks and some of the best walking routes in the National Park. Head to Keswick for boat trips on Derwentwater, outdoor theatre at the Lakeside, or the famous market. Whinlatter Forest is nearby, offering a range of experiences from gentle trails to adrenaline-fueled mountain biking. Adventure seekers can also try ghyll scrambling, kayaking, or paddleboarding on nearby lakes. After a day of exploring, return to the warmth and grandeur of All Saints Room – a sanctuary where history, design and indulgence meet.
