Torbay Rise is a luxury holiday home in Torquay. It's an exceptional property for a self-catering holiday in South Devon, sleeping 15 people in eight bedrooms with features that include an indoor pool, sauna, gym, cinema and games room. The English Riviera has milder weather than other parts of the south west. However, with plenty to keep people happily occupied together at home, you can have a fantastically fun day even when it's raining. You're only half a mile from the seafront, passing a small supermarket, shops, cafes and the iconic Grand Hotel during your 10-minute stroll to the sand. Torbay Rise is a firm favourite with large and multi-generational families for its space, amenities and location.
If the English Riviera is a treasure, Torquay is the crown jewels. Palm trees line the sandy seafront and make it feel more exotic than elsewhere in Devon. Wander by the marina to see the boats coming and going from the busy harbour, or settle back with a plate of freshly caught seafood and a glass of something chilled. Torquay offers a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink, with everything from paper-wrapped chips to eat on the beach to The Elephant, a Michelin-starred brasserie where most of the ingredients are sourced from Torbay.
Torbay is the 22-mile stretch of coastline from Torquay to Brixham. Paignton is in the centre of both, and other local beaches include Meadfoot, Torre Abbey Sands, Broadsands, Preston Sands, Maidencombe, and Oddicombe. Family-friendly attractions to add to your wish list are Paignton Zoo and wildlife conservation, Babbacombe Model Village, Kent's Cavern with evidence of Stone Age occupation, and Cockington Country Park. Fans of Agatha Christie should certainly book in September for the week-long festival that celebrates the writer's life and works. Christie loved Torbay and lived in Greenway House in Brixham, now managed by the National Trust.
Torbay Rise was the owner's home for 19 years and retains the warmth and welcome of staying with family friends. They are keen to ensure everyone has exactly the holiday they want and manage the property themselves to ensure it is always ready for you and your family to make memories to cherish.

Torbay Rise is a late-Victorian property, having been a feature on the hill since 1891. It perches above the town with sea views from the house and the garden, and every single room is beautifully presented and decorated with comfort in mind.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen, bath towels and towels for the pool are provided when you stay at Torbay Rise. Smoking is not permitted. Pets welcome by arrangement.
