Living
Little Breakers and its setting make an immediate impression. Arriving at the house, the sea is already in view, and within minutes you can be walking barefoot along the sand with a surfboard under your arm or watching the waves roll in from the garden. Set just off the beach path at the edge of Croyde Bay, this spacious beach house looks straight out towards the Atlantic, with wide skies, shifting light and the steady rhythm of the surf forming part of everyday life. The house sits within its own grounds, with a sheltered garden and patio to the rear and a large lawn at the front that catches the sun and invites slow afternoons outdoors. Inside, the rooms are bright and generously sized, laid out so groups of friends and family can be together without feeling on top of one another. There is space to gather around the dining table, spread out in the lounge, or simply pause by the windows and watch the weather move across the bay.
A gentle walk brings you into the heart of Croyde village, known for its relaxed surf culture and friendly, laid-back atmosphere. There are several great pubs, restaurants and cafes nearby. Surf shops, bakeries and small stores are dotted around the village centre, making it easy to pick up provisions without planning ahead. In summer, the village green often hosts markets, food stalls and open-air events, creating a sociable buzz without ever feeling overdone. Despite its popularity, Croyde still feels like a real village, with footpaths leading out through fields and dunes and a pace of life that naturally slows once the day's surf is done.
The wider area offers endless variety for days out and unplanned adventures. Putsborough Sands curves away beyond the headland, Saunton Sands stretches for miles behind its dunes, and Woolacombe's broad beach and promenade are close enough for an easy change of scene. The South West Coast Path runs right through this landscape, offering clifftop walks with far-reaching views and quiet coves tucked between dramatic headlands. Inland, Braunton sits beside the Taw Estuary with independent shops and access to the Tarka Trail, while Exmoor National Park opens up into wide moorland, wooded valleys and dark skies at night. Little Breakers holiday house is the perfect choice for a relaxing break beside Croyde beach.
