Stepping Stones is a spacious, three-bedroom holiday cottage set beside the River Windrush in the very heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. Sleeping up to five guests—with space for two more on a sofa bed—it's the largest of our cottages and ideal for families or small groups travelling together. With the gentle sound of the river passing right outside, and a private patio garden for riverside dining, this is a wonderfully relaxing place to enjoy a break in one of the Cotswolds' most iconic villages. The cottage includes a double bedroom, a twin, and a single bedroom, a downstairs WC, and a family bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath. The open-plan living and dining space is perfect for time together, and the well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay.
Right outside the front door, Bourton-on-the-Water offers plenty to keep everyone entertained. Families will love visiting Birdland Park and Gardens, the Model Village, and the Cotswold Motoring and Toy Museum, all just a short walk from the cottage. Local shops, bakeries and delis make it easy to pick up fresh ingredients, while the village is also home to traditional pubs, riverside cafés, and tearooms with treats for every age. Children can paddle in the shallow water under the stone bridges, while adults enjoy browsing the boutiques or relaxing with a coffee in the sunshine. Free parking is another extra tick to staying at Stepping Stones - it's like gold dust in Bourton-on-the-Water as the village is so small.
The surrounding Cotswolds is full of family-friendly adventures, with walking and cycling routes, wildlife parks, and picture-postcard towns all within an hour's drive. Take a scenic walk to Lower Slaughter, explore the antique shops of Stow-on-the-Wold, or plan a day trip to Cotswold Farm Park, Sudeley Castle or Blenheim Palace. Guests who bring their pets will love that the area offers miles of dog-friendly trails and green space to explore, and it's also great for cycling and touring. With its enormously desirable riverside location, flexible sleeping arrangements, and a garden perfect for outdoor relaxation, Stepping Stones Cottage is a wonderful base for a relaxed, memory-making family holiday in the Cotswolds.

Outside: The cottage has a private, riverside patio garden with an outdoor dining table and chairs. Allocated parking is behind the motoring museum next door.
Additional Information: Utilities, Wifi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small surcharge. A travel cot and a high chair can be rented for a nominal fee. Smoking indoors is not allowed.
