Lake View Cottage overlooks the lakes and woodland on Waldens Estate. Adults and families will love this holiday home in its stunning setting. The self-catering property is in West Grimstead near Salisbury, with beautiful walking and cycling routes from the door. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms and suits couples or families who want to enjoy the peaceful location close to woodlands. You're only a few miles from the New Forest National Park and the Cranbourne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within easy reach of south coast beaches.
The Walden Estate is a family run fishery, providing some fine specimen Carp. There is no need to be an angler to stay here as the holiday cottage is completely separate and away from the main fishing lake. However, if you would like to book the fishing lake please mention it to Lisa or Dave. It's so soothing to sit on the sofa and admire the sight of the sun breaking through the trees to stipple the surface of the water. West Grimstead is a quiet community five miles from Salisbury, 20 miles from Southampton, and 30 miles or around a 40-minute drive from Winchester. Each city has plenty to offer for a day out, from Salisbury Cathedral's twisty spire to the medieval round table in Winchester Castle to Southampton's specialist museums that include the Solent Sky Museum and the SeaCity Museum. You're also only half an hour's drive from Stonehenge and henges at Avebury and Knowlton.
Being only a few miles from the New Forest means you have over 140 miles of designated walking trails at your feet. Combine that with 100 miles of waymarked cycling routes linked by quiet country lanes, and you have all you need to explore the national park. If it's hot, head for Bournemouth Beach, around an hour from Lake View Cottage, or find some shade in the gardens at National Trust Mottisfont or Stourhead. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Lake View Cottage, so pack everyone in the car with your rods and bike, and leave your cares behind as you set off on a fun-filled holiday!

New in 2022, Lake View Cottage was once a dairy but is now a well-presented single-storey holiday cottage.
Outside: The lakeside cottage has outdoor seating, off-street parking, and storage for bikes and fishing rods.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome with more possible by arrangement. Smoking is not allowed in the property.
