Kestrel is a charming holiday cottage perfect for couples or solo guests seeking peace in beautiful surroundings. Owned by the Seven Sisters Country park and managed by Cuckmere Cottages, your stay will contribute to the upkeep of this iconic part of the South Downs National Park. It's one of three historic cottages within the Seven Sisters Country Park, and has been lovingly restored and revived to sleep two people in one bedroom. Located in a vehicle-free zone near Seaford and Eastbourne, it's a fantastic place to immerse yourself in spectacular scenery without sacrificing modern comforts. Adjacent to Skylark and a stone's throw from Redshank, Kestrel is private and self-contained for couples or can be booked with one or more of the other Cuckmere Cottages or campsites to accommodate extended families, walking groups, photography clubs, or friends.
Seaford, nestled on the edge of the South Downs National Park, offers the perfect escape for those who love the great outdoors. With the iconic South Downs Way, the dramatic Seven Sisters Cliffs, and the peaceful Cuckmere Haven right on your doorstep, you’ll have plenty of stunning trails to explore. Lace up your walking boots and get ready for adventure! Despite its secluded feel, reaching this picturesque spot is simple. Whether by car, train from London to Eastbourne or Seaford, or direct bus from Brighton, you’ll arrive feeling miles away from the hustle and bustle.
As night falls, the beauty of the Seven Sisters Country Park only deepens. It’s one of just 21 International Dark Sky Reserves, where the clear skies come alive with countless stars. This dazzling night-time display is just one of the reasons Kestrel is such a unique place to stay. Daytime offers endless activities, too. Paddle along the Cuckmere River, take to the water on a paddleboard, cycle through the countryside, or enjoy a peaceful horse ride or boat trip. For those looking for a blend of nature and culture, Brighton’s vibrant shops and Eastbourne’s Victorian charm are only a short trip away. You can also explore local gems like Rathfinny Vineyard or the historic Clergy House in nearby Alfriston.
Guests rave about Cuckmere Cottages, calling the experience "exceptional" and describing the location as "lost in nature". It’s a perfect choice for your next self-catering holiday!
