Located in the Outer Hebrides off Scotland's stunning West Coast, Woodcroft sits on the beautiful Scottish Isle of Harris in the little village of Horgabost. Sitting on a fourteen acre croft, this welcoming Scottish holiday cottage enjoys a wonderful position within walking distance of some of the most beautiful beaches you will find in Scotland (and possibly Europe!).
Sleeping up to six guests in three bedrooms, Woodcroft offers the chance to escape away from it all and has two double bedrooms (plus bathroom), a generous size kitchen/diner and sitting room (with open fire!) on the ground floor, along with a single bedroom and toilet upstairs, making it well suited to families, friends and couples who want to visit this spectacular part of Scotland.
The Isle of Harris joins the Isle of Lewis and sits on the North West corner of the Outer Hebrides. Harris is famed worldwide for its wonderful tweed, stunning beaches, incredible wildlife and dramatic landscape that makes a striking backdrop against the staggeringly beautiful golden fringed coastline. Every season has something special to offer on the Isle of Harris with Spring being particularly beautiful - the cuckoo comes in April, it sings its song in May, it plays a tune at the end of June, before it flies away.
Spend your days relaxing at the cottage or on the beach; walking across the sands, machair, or hillwalking; spotting rare wildlife (you may even be lucky enough to spot otters, whales and seals); or cycling the quiet roads taking in the breathtaking scenery en route. For the more adventurous, the Harris Outdoor Adventure Centre offers coasteering, sailing and kayaking and there are no end of stunning beaches (such as nearby Luskentyre) to blow you away.
For those happy to leave the beauty that surrounds this tranquil part of Harris, there are boat trips available to the World Heritage Site of St. Kilda; there are tartan shops and a distillery at Tarbert; there are restaurants, cafes and tea rooms dotted around the island and a co-operative store in Leverburgh; and there are the attractions of the Isle of Lewis including the famous Callanish Standing Stones and the harbour town of Stornoway. The North Harris Eagle Observatory is on the way to Lewis.
Whether you spend your days soaking up the beauty of the beaches, paddling the crystal clear waters, ticking off an abundance of wildlife or exploring the many attractions of this beautiful corner of the Outer Hebrides, a holiday on the Isle of Harris is sure to be one you will remember.
