Shore Cottage is an idyllic Isle of Skye retreat. The traditional holiday cottage, which sleeps up to five people in the main house with space for four more in the extension, is metres from the water in Ord, with breathtaking views looking out over the water towards the Cuillin and the islands of Rum and Canna. The cottage is very comfortable and well-equipped for self-catering, though you may well find you spend as much time outdoors as possible or gazing at the constantly changing view. From the comfort of the house, you may be able to see otters swimming and playing.
Ord is a small community on the shore of Loch Eishort on the Sleat Peninsula. It's in the southwest of Skye, around half an hour's drive from the Skye Bridge. You can enjoy wild swimming from a pleasant sandy beach a few hundred yards from the house. It's an excellent base for wildlife and bird-watching as well as for outdoor pursuits including walking, mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, canoeing, paddleboarding, fishing or sailing. The house has a games room with table tennis, table football and darts to pass the time. Local attractions include Armadale Castle, museum and gardens. The Torabhaig Distillery has guided tours, whisky tasting, and a pleasant cafe. The white sandy beach at Point of Sleat is made even more special by only being able to reach it on foot or by boat. Further afield, Skye has an abundance of beauty spots like the famous fairy pools and the Cuillin. The boat trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk is absolutely unforgettable for both scenery and wildlife. Other visitor attractions include Dunvegan Castle, the glass-bottom boat from Kyle of Lochalsh or a boat from Portree to see sea eagles. Tread in the footprints of dinosaurs at An Corran and Score Bay. The website "sleatperfectlyskye.com" is helpful on things to do or see.
This self-catering holiday home is suitable for big families or two families on holiday together. The extension can be closed off for smaller groups, with the price adjusted accordingly.

Shore Cottage is a traditional home with fantastic views from the house and garden. The property has been extended and has accommodation over two levels.

Outside: The garden leads down to the water's edge and has seating and a clothesline. There is also off-street parking.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi and bed linen are provided. Guests to bring bath and beach towels and hand towels. One well behaved dog is welcome downstairs. Smoking is not allowed in the cottage.

We can usually be flexible on date of entry for Christmas and New Year weeks when these holidays fall on, or close to the weekend. Since sheep can come close to the house, we ask those taking a dog to ensure they are kept under control at all times. There is a zinc bath and cot available for children's use on request.
