Lodge Farm is nestled in the hilly Scottish countryside just outside the village of Lochranza on the northern coast of the Isle of Arran. This spacious holiday home is renovated to a high standard and is perfect for extended family holidays. With four bedrooms, including a double ensuite on the ground floor, a cosy open plan living/dining area and a tranquil setting where your only neighbours are sheep and deer, you will instantly feel at home here. At the end of the day enjoy a long soak in the free standing bath, curl up infront of the wood-burning fire, or throw open the French doors and enjoy a glass of wine with the resident rabbits and squirrels. If you are looking for a holiday home where you can truly kick back and relax away from the hustle and bustle of every day life then Lodge Farm is perfect.
For a small village, there is plenty to see and do in Lochranza. Visit the ruined castle, take a tour of Arran's whisky distillery or enjoy a round of golf. If you fancy a night off cooking you can enjoy a meal at the Lochranza Hotel, or hop on a ferry to the Kintyre Penninsula for a fish dinner in Skipness. Keen walkers have the choice of several routes that start from the village, a popular choice being a 3 mile walk around Newton Point to the Fairy Dell. Deer are frequent visitors to Lochranza and you cannot fail to spot them as you meander through the village and surrounding countryside. Alternatively, see if you can spot seals and dolphins as you head along the Arran Coastal Way or challenge yourself to one of the mountainous peaks. Standing at 2,866 feet above sea level, Goatfell is the tallest peak on Arran, but there are plenty of equally spectacular mountains to choose from. Whatever route you choose you will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery and an abundance of wildlife. With climbing, gorge walking and kayaking also available nearby there is plenty to keep any outdoor enthusiasts happy.
This wild and remote island is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. Whether you want to explore a new walking route each day, tackle the adventurous activities on offer, or simply soak up the stunning coastal and mountainous scenery, you are guaranteed to return home relaxed and recharged.
