Lower Polnish is a traditional Scottish blackhouse that dates as far back as 1750. After extensive renovation and refurbishment in 2018 the cottage now provides a spectacular romantic and secluded 'away from it all' holiday retreat by the sea, where guests can get 'off the grid', back to basics and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
Accessible only via foot (well for the last three hundred yards of the journey!), what the cottage lacks in accessibility, it more than makes up for in location and tranquility. Spend your days exploring miles of private shoreline and your evenings relaxing in front of the wood burning stove soaking up the glorious views across the water.
Whilst technically on the mainland of Scotland, the cottage offers total isolation and sits just a pebble's throw from the sea on a private peninsular of some three and a half thousand acres of pure Scottish Wilderness. When you stay at Lower Polnish you can expect no interruptions (no noise, no people, no emails!), just pure relaxation, stunning scenery, an abundance of fresh air and plenty of wildlife to spot (red deer, seals, shags, white-tailed sea eagles and dragon flies are just some of the regular visitors).
So make the most of the opportunity to work with nature and gather driftwood for a fire on the shore, or play board games in front of a roaring wood burner in the comfort of this cosy cottage.
Lower Polnish offers a unique holiday experience and one that will create memories to last a life time. However, it may not be for everyone. It's a holiday that allows you to not only cater for yourself, but make time for each other away from modern day distractions. A place that will reward with lashings of pure natural beauty and a sense of being at one with nature and yourself.

Additional information: The cottage is warm and cosy with both a log burner and central heating, as well as electricity. Logs are provided for the wood burner and you can always collect drift wood from the beach for the stove or a beach fire. Up to two dogs welcome but no cats.
